Initially, it may in part be a tangible expression of frustration at what they only vaguely perceive as the loss of independence. For Trump, the hate part is so instinctive that it will probably the last part that goes.

anger and fear are usually quite evident as dementia comes onā¦the anger comes from loss of memory, etc. and the fear comes from losing control and his life long paranoia;he probably have never fully trusted anyone in his whole life, except maybe his mother and she is goneā¦his name-calling and denigration of others[opponents] is his way of attempting to pull them down to his level.

Weāve know for a while heās a sadist, but Iām seeing some masochism on PPās part. His policies, every last one, are failures: health care non-proposals, immigration, trade, etc., and yet he returns to each one and pounds on them for the publicās benefit making himself look ever more incompetent. Perhaps he doesnāt mind the level of pain and humiliation heās inflicting on himself because, hey, heās got a captive audience at all time and talk talk talk is all that matters.

Actually, I think this āmasochismā is unintended and in fact the abovementioned dementia: he doesnāt remember that he doesnāt have a health care plan, that his tariffs arenāt working well, etc. Heās on autopilot, and automatic response, which help when he struggles for thoughts and coherency.
