Discussion for article #241301
âI suspect this is going to start a discussion across the country about how community colleges prepare themselves for events like this,â said the collegeâs former president, Joe Olson.
Somewhere, Osama bin Laden is laughing his ass off.
When will these gun maniacs finally say enough? Never. Itâs up to you and me to do so. Donât get shouted down again.
Because we certainly canât discuss people walking around town with multiple guns.
Pro-life, unless youâre in the crosshairs. Then itâs tough luck.
Another guy with mental health issues allowed to buy multiple guns without reservation. And yet, I can find nothing in the constitution that even allows individual gun ownership (Read the second amendment carefully).
Maybe the entire country has a mental issue when it comes to guns.
Before going into spinal surgery, Anastasia Boylan told her father and brother the gunman entered her classroom firing. The professor in the classroom was shot point blank. Others were hit, she told her family.
Everyone in the classroom dropped to the ground.
The gunman, while reloading his handgun, ordered the students to stand up if they were Christians, Boylan told her family.
âAnd they would stand up and he said, ***âGood, because youâre a Christian, youâre going to see God in just about one second,***ââ Boylanâs father, Stacy, told CNN, relaying her account.
âAnd then he shot and killed them.â
The Right is going to run with this, and prominent media outlets like CNN above will trumpet it. It's a "War On Christians!" And we all know the people leading the war on Christians, right? It's liberals, academics and Obama. Fox will pound on this relentlessly, hammering home it was Obama and The Left that got all these kids killed, due to their stoking an anti-Christian climate in the nation. That's what you have to look forward to in the next couple weeks.
Kids and a teacher in a community college beginning writing course. There´s more blood on your hands, NRA-sucking legislators. You knew this would happen, and you did nothing. Fuck you bastards.
Rotten country we live in.
From the link:
¨On the torrent website, his last upload is shown three days ago as a documentary on the Sandy Hook Massacre, where gunman Adam Lanza killed 20 children and six adults at a Connecticut elementary school.¨
*
Regarding the recent shooting of the reporter and cameraman in Va.
âOn an interesting note, I have noticed that so many people like him are all alone and unknown, yet when they spill a little blood, the whole world knows who they are,â Harper-Mercer wrote. âA man who was known by no one, is now known by everyone. His face splashed across every screen, his name across the lips of every person on the planet, all in the course of one day. Seems the more people you kill, the more yourâre [sic] in the limelight.â
If the shooter´s question about religion is true, I´ll wager that he is copying the (false) claim that the Columbine shooters asked the same question.
Plus when that was written guns were muzzle loaders. One shot then youâve got to reload. I googled and folks claim they can get off maybe 3-4 shots a minute in idea conditions and no one is trying to stop you.
On his MySpace profile, he lists his political affiliation as ¨conservative republican¨. I´m sure Fox will be all over that tidbit.
ETA: My bad. The actual site is not MySpace, but a dating site: ¨ Under the username Ironcross45, Harper-Mercer also had an active dating profile on the website Spiritual Passions, in which he says he is spiritual but not into organized religion.¨
This comes from the Mashable page that TeenLaQueffa links to above.
Here´s his Spiritual Passions page: http://spiritualpassions.com/seeme/ironcross45.html
Funny. Somehow weâve got like 300 million guns in this country, but âgood guys with gunsâ are never around to stop these mass murders.
Or is that just a specious argument from the NRAâŚ
Thatâs because itâs not in there, and weâre not talking about hunting rifles. Maybe we need new justices on Supreme Court who can read âblack letter lawâ (plain English)>
I have a feeling the right-wing is going to pretty much ignore the whole war on Christians because the shooter identified himself as " conservative, republican": http://www.rawstory.com/2015/10/umpqua-college-terrorist-identified-as-26-year-old-chris-harper-mercer/ He claimed to be of "mixed race, that wonât be an issue either. I like the New York Daily News cover:
http://www.rawstory.com/2015/10/nothings-changed-new-york-daily-news-indicts-gun-culture-in-powerful-post-umpqua-cover/
Since the Sandy Hook shooting, the NYDT cover says 87,423 have been killed by guns, and nothingâs changed. Incredible. Thatâs a lot of people.
Josh, I so love the site, but why did you have to make his full name the headline? Is that what these maniacs crave? You missed that memo?
I just saw on television the entire âtargeting christiansâ spiel and it sounds suspicious to me. A boy told his sister who told his dad who told the media about the supposed event.
Ever play the game âtelephoneâ when you were a kid?
Eh, Iâm sure the truth will come out.
Unsurprisingly, he lists âConservative Republicanâ as his âpolitical viewâ on his online Dating Profile.
Iâll just leave it at that.
Maybe, however I think the temptation to link it to anti-Christian motivations will be too strong to resist. Add in the Kim Davis angle and her claims of persecution for her Christian beliefs. Soon you have The Left being disparaged for a grand unraveling of the nationâs fabric. Shoving homosexuality down our throats, soiling marriage, banning guns, hating Christians. Itâs too tempting a menu of affronts to ignore for the likes of Fox. The perfect storm of bereavements. You actually think Hannity, Tantaros, Gutfield, Ingraham, Crowley, OâReilly, et al can resist going there? I canât see it.
Geez, and I thought he was the typical loner-loser type guy. After reading this I bet the women swarmed and swooned over him at parties. The âI chase parked cars in my spare timeâ come hither look probably closed the deal many a night.
See âAmericans for Responsible Solutionsâ. Common sense gun regulation. Screw the NRA.
