I like the fact that Hillary did not laugh at Christie’s expense when Matthews was picking on him for being a fat guy in a wing chair. She seemed uncomfortable with that nasty streak in Matthews. Good on her.

I see this story somewhat often, politicians and celebrities getting recorded off-camera during a break. Hillary didn’t embarrass herself here, but many have. I puzzle that people either don’t remain silent during breaks, or else fill the void with trivial banalities sure to rankle no one. And we seldom if ever read of networks being called to task. Someone leaks these, deliberately, yet everyone including those interviewed make no issue of it. You don’t see deleted scenes from a Spielberg movie shown all around, he permits it only upon his permission. Chris Matthews can’t dictate to his own staff leaks of this nature aren’t permitted, and hold violators accountable?

Mrs. Clinton was making an observation we all have made and because he wasn’t “on” Matthews actually allowed her to make it. They were having normal, thoughtful conversation. Yes, this is huge news – Who IS the adult in the race-- HILLARY CLINTON, #45 #ImWithHer

Isn’t that interesting? Secretary Clinton is civil even in a private conversation when she thinks she’s not on mic/camera. Sure to disappoint the Bernistas.

When Trump isn’t inciting riots, he’s phoning in to media one after the other. This morning, to the Today show. Matt Lauer, ignoring Trump’s statement yesterday that “nobody gets hurt” at his ralllies (which, as the NYT puts it today, means “nobody got killed”) asks Trump for his analysis of the elections today. Nobody wants to alienate this guy.
