Reminds me of that West Wing episode where President Bartlett “accidentally” gets caught on a hot mic throwing shade at his opponent’s intelligence.
The most benign of hot mics ever in the history of, well, anything. Clinton responds blithely to topics tossed out by Matthews to fill the time. And yet the question remains, the thing that will surely get her in the end … did she actually watch the final episode of Downton Abbey?
Inquiring minds want to know. No, need to know. It’s vital.

Not at all! Even when she´s voting for the Iraq War, or supporting a coup of a democratically elected government in Honduras, or calling for only a $12/hour minimum wage after serving on the Walmart Board of Directors, I´ve never found her than anything less than measured and polite in tone. Truly an adult in the room, and admirable!

There are economists who actually favor a $12 minimum wage in areas where doubling it to $15 overnight might cause difficulties in local economies. Of course even a $12 minimum wage would cause tremendous ripples in all wages, and perhaps in those areas not generate a backlash, or cause local employers to attempt to crush it by laying off workers out of fear or retribution. Economics, unlike politics has measurable things, and cares less about politics, and butt hurt feelings.
It seems clearer every day that Bernie-ites are in thrall of the candidate promising them a pony.

She’s known him for decades, so this isn’t surprising to her. IMO, he’s losing his edge but he’s been part of the social scene in DC for a very long time, and at least tolerated because he can provide airtime. Also, he has a well-known soft spot for political dynasties, and caters to them on-air: Kennedys, Bushes, Clintons.
It’s actually funny that he asked about Downton Abbey, because he dearly loves our putative political royalty.
I find this kinda telling. When republicans say something they think is off-mic, it’s usually racist, mean-spirited, laced with obscenities…
When the leading democrat says something off-mic it sounds like (as BeattyCat says) two more or less normal people having a conversation about politics.
Next: the conspiracy theories that Clinton knew the mic was hot, so she completely refrained from talking about her plan to institute compulsory lesbian subprime mortgages.

Look my friend. I know you are desperate to smear Hillary, I get it. But when you have to lie and distort a person’s record, then you don’t have much of an argument. EsPECially when you slander people like Delores Huerta, who is way, way, way more left than you ever thought of being, and has a much better record than your hero does, or you will ever compile in your entire life.
And your hero has A LOT more baggage when it comes to supporting heinous governments. Oliver North’s Sandinistas? Death squads that raped and murdered nuns and priests? You have no standing to smear Hillary’s record. None.
