Discussion: Omarosa Plays Tape Of Kelly 'Threat,' Claims She's Heard Trump's 'N-Word Tape'

There are real questions about this woman’s credibility…

Indeed, and Trump’s credibility is demolished, destroyed, reduced to ruin. Who you gonna believe? Where is our Shakespeare? Will the play be a tragedy or a comedy?

Omarosa was remarkably effective in this interview. The more clips I hear, the more I sense that she has shot poison tipped arrows into the body of this administration. I did think she would have some receipts, but I still viewed her skeptically because of her reputation. I thought the Administration would be able to get past her pretty quickly.

But this MTP interview is every bit as explosive at Mitt Romney’s 47% tape.

First, it is shocking to hear Kelly’s voice on a tape where he isn’t really giving an exit interview or termination discussion, but simply telling her that she needs to do what is expected or else there will be consequences. That Kelly held this meeting in a SCIF is also problematic. What was he hiding?

Second, the fact that she had such a sensitive tape made her instantly more credible. Now, I want to know what other receipts she has.

Third, her analysis of the tape and other items discussed was incisive. What was on the paper provided by Cohen to Trump that Trump put into his mouth? Why is Kelly claiming that everyone works for him and not Trump? Why was Kelly using mob boss style threats against her? Her framing was first rate and much more direct and aggressive than the media were willing to go.

Fourth, Omarosa has exposed how little care and regard this Administration has for security. Everyone is taping everyone. Nothing is secure. The Russians and Chinese must have libraries of tapes if Omarosa could pull off what she did. I don’t get the impression that it was that hard a thing for her to do.

Fifth, the story she told about being taken in by Trump only to realize later that she was being used and that he isn’t really a good person is a story that a lot of Trump voters and once agnostic folks who didn’t vote or voted 3rd party will relate to. Expect a lot of people to start talking in similar terms about Trump. She provided a pathway for others to move away from Trump. This was probably the most devastating part of the interview.

Now, the media are already trying to put the focus on the fact that Omarosa taped something inside a SCIF which could be illegal. However, I doubt this administration is going to do anything to her. They’re scared shitless of her right now and will treat her gingerly. Any inquiry into how she did what she did will invariable reach into the WH and cause an examination of other practices and it will not look good for them.

That was…excellent.

Coming from the President’s CoS, and a military man, yes, she’d be right to take that as a threat.

It’s not like this White House hasn’t tried to ruin countless people already…

This White House doesn’t even have to try to ruin people. It just seems to happen through proximity.

Here’s a TMZ reporter getting info from Omarosa at the airport.

TMZ: We want to know, will you still be friends with president Trump at this point?

Omarosa: I am no longer friends with him, nor do I want to.

TMZ: In the book, should we also hear some things about [garbled] how relationships in the White House too?

Omarosa: Oh yeah: Some people gettin’ it on in the White House [laughs]

TMZ: What about Hope Hicks?

Omarosa: She was the main one

TMZ: One last thing. Would you, is it fair to > still say, say right now after the Lebron James situation, that the president is really causing tensions with African-Americans right now?

Omarosa: He wants to start a race-war. And he’s succeeding.

TMZ: One more thing, would you say the president is a racist right now?

Omarosa: Um

TMZ: Is it fair to say?

Omarosa: ABSOLUTELY
.

No one is questioning why Kelly took her to the Situation Room to fire her??

When Trump is the president, every moment qualifies as a “situation.” Wouldn’t be shocked to learn that it is Kelly’s office…

No hubla Englicia but what do they say - no honor among thieves - no?

She should have got him to lie about it first. She should have made the allegation, and waited for the dishonest response, THEN released the fucking tape.

I wonder why everyone refers to “tapes.” Did she have a tape recorder? Didn’t audio tapes go out of style more than a decade ago? Presumably she has digital recordings, maybe on her iPhone. But not tapes.

Eh, maybe they just knew where the light switches were in that one.

Omarosa is opportunistic but this tape is very bad for Kelly. He sounds like a mob boss. He has the most to lose from this recording.

Who in their right mind would take a WH employee who does not have proper clearances into the SIT room to fire her?

Gawd - I just cannot listen to interviews of that woman.

Why do interviewers allow her to rattle on and dispense a litany of fact free talking points that have nothing to do with the question she has been asked?

Ask a question and cut her off when she obfuscates and diverts from it. Ask it again.

If she refuses to answer, usher her off the stage with a blunt “if you are not interested in answering the questions we’ll move on to the next interview.”

I admit to total ignorance on SCIF legality/illegality, but I would think a HR-type exit interview is not Top Secret stuff, even if in a SCIF. Kelly likely chose SCIF for privacy when he implied the “reputation” threat, but if 2 WH employees are discussing simple HR matters, would that be illegal? I cannot imagine that (but then I cannot imagine Trump as President)

what she characterized as White House chief of staff threatening her to depart the White House in a “friendly” manner, or else face “difficulty” with her “reputation.”

Given her prior reputation, this doesn’t seem like much of a threat.

That was my thought as well. Another alternative is that he told her it was “the Situation Room” but it actually wasn’t the Situation Room that we know of. I wouldn’t be surprised by either.

Just one question. When is Omarosa scheduled to give testimony to Mueller’s grand jury?
