Discussion for article #243753
This seems legit to me, but at the same time the optics play into Trump & Carson’s whining about the “back room establishment” types trying to control the process.
LOL, not my monkeys, not my circus, not my problem.
Donald “say what?!” Trump won’t like this one bit.
And so it begins… The Empire Strikes Back. Cue the Darth Vader music.
Incoming tweet-storm about how stupid Jon Husted is and the cease-and-desist letters he’ll be sending. Doesn’t Jon know what a masterful negotiator Donny is, and how that is far more important than the laws.
On what basis, or for what possible motive, would you call this “legit”?
Note the caveat to the Ohio SoS’s claim: If a federal district court judge were find unfair treatment of a candidate in the primary process of a national party, what would prevent that judge from issuing a series of orders issued allowing the aggrieved candidate to run as in independent and to appear on the approved ballot as such?
The fix is in. GOP party bosses might have figured a way to keep The Donald on the Rez.
Oh this fight will be a thing of beauty. Jon Husted’s grasp of the law is a tad self centric and as we know, Trump is above it. Popcorn stock should be going up.
Even if he isn’t on the ballot in Ohio, there’s only 49 other states that Trump probably believes he can win handily.
Let the tweet-Flurry begin!!!
That is his opinion. What does Trump say?
Hundreds of Trump’s supporters have told Donald he can run on a third party ticket in Ohio, so Husted must be mistaken.
I’m sure with enough money and a lot of bad faith, he could manage it.
I can see Trump running in those states as a “fuck you” to the Republican party too.
A Trumpy scorned is not a pretty sight.
No form of Trumpy is a pretty sight.
And what, in a legal sense, is “good faith”? Sounds like Ohio had better prepare themselves to meet Trump’s attorneys.
Serious question, what are the rules about write-in candidates in Ohio?
Not so serious observation, since it is not clear Trump supporters are literate, I’m not sure even being on the ballot is that big a deal for Don Don’s ultimate vote count.
You gotta love the catch-22 that’s going on here.
They desperately want to disassociate themselves from Derpy-D’s xenophobic, nativist, racist, bigoted rhetoric…and yet here we find them having to irrevocably attach themselves to him in order to prevent him from running independently.
Fucking hilarious.
Trump: GOP is and has always been a completely unconstitutional entity.
