Some responsibility? Yes. Not all of it. But more than he acknowledges. He underestimated the ferocity of the Republican attacks and their determination to oppose everything he proposed. He did not do enough to build up the Democratic Party, especially at the grass roots. His own organization–OFA–undermined fundraising for state and local Democratic organizations. Those are serious faults. They don’t undermine his presidency or his legacy, but they limited the first and will limit the second.
Blah blah blah from the boy toy vapid doltish liar and coward-in-chief and genocidal maniac, a true POS.
Nothing on Bilderbergers, Bohemian Grove, or our alien lizard overlords? Sad!
He owns all of it. He fired Howard Dean and hired Tim Kaine and Debbie Wasserman-Schulz. He failed to protect this country from its biggest domestic enemy: The Republican Party. His leadership of the DNC destroyed the Democratic Party while it made the political class surrounding Obama and the Clintons rich even while they kept losing.
He lost everything: The House, The Senate, The Supreme Court, and The Presidency. Everything. The progressive movement is likely now to set back decades because of Obama. He is gong to lose his legacy, plus the legacy of many progressive Presidents before him.
Had he cared enough, he could have made the Democratic Party stronger and more progressive. But he didn’t. His justice department was totally rigged in favor of the rich and powerful over the rest of us. Bankers got away with stealing thousands of homes through mortgage fraud while Holder was jailing people for pot.
Fuck you, Obama.
Fuck off georgeh.
There’s no reason to have this conservation anymore. It’s all been said.
Fuck you!
I don’t think the progressive movement has been larger or more motivated for change in many decades. I also think the election of DJT will energize progressives to get active and turn out at the polls.
We’re headed into a great progressive resurgence and it won’t take long at all.
I can’t imagine any of the choices we had for President in 2008 doing a better job than Obama did. I hear he even tried to fire DWS, but she pulled the old fire-a woman-and-I’ll-make-sure-it-ends-your-career.
That said, why did he not “raise the cap” for Social Security when Al Franken was seated, giving him filibuster-proof Democratic control of both houses of congress? I figured he’d turned to the dark side when he appointed the catfood commission.
On his worst day, Obama was never the corporate shill Hillary would have been, but he was never the gifted spokesman for progressive values I had hoped for.
Obama, more than any Republican, is responsible for the Democratic losses in both 2010 and 2016.
In 2009 upon taking the presidency and in the fact of the formation of the Tea Party, Obama made bipartisanship with a discredited GOP a policy more important than fixing the economy or delivering policy to those that had elected him. This allowed the GOP to get up from the floor and stop Obama by merely not agreeing to anything thereby stopping his primary policy of bipartisanship.
In 2013, after the Senate ended the filibuster for presidential nominees meaning Obama could appoint anyone to almost any position and knowing that Hillary Clinton would be the Democratic nominee to replace Obama as president, Obama appointed Ken Starr flunky and known irrational Clinton hater James Comey as FBI director. Appointing Comey to be director of the FBI was nothing short of giving your worst enemy a knife and turning your back. The result should be no surprise to anyone.
Truth hurts.
Yeah, it’s not like he had a day job or anything else to do.
Obama refused to prosecute any of the bankers that caused the financial meltdown. They literally stole peoples’ house by illegal foreclosures and falsified documents. The evidence was clear and unquestionable.
He did nothing to address income equality, and was so very nice to the Republicans even as they tried to destroy him and the Democratic party. Guess who won?
President Trump with the Senate and House in Republican control is Obama’s legacy. And it is a failure for America and the world.
Fuck you, Obama.
This thread is precisely why I hate and despise the far left far more than any Republican. It’s Obama’s fault Republicans are racist pieces of shit and he should’ve used his crystal ball to see that Republicans would engage in unprecedented destruction to the point of being willing to destroy the full faith and credit of our nation. He should’ve seen that coming. Stupidity has no ideology. Fuck you, far left.
His day job was to keep his party in power so he could accomplish the things the country needed. He failed.
Typical left wing bullshit. His day job was to run the fucking country. Our job was to keep his political party in power. Unlike the piece of shit the far left helped elect as the next president, Obama actually takes the job of president seriously and was fully immersed in doing that instead of playing petty ass politics. Also, you might recall, though the far left never recalls anything, that Obama had several five alarm fires to put out when he assumed office.
Yeah, and none of them were in any position where they actually had to work with anyone. They could sit back and spitball from the cheap seats as the far left always does.
God, you dumb asses still think this about the rich getting richer. You still think income inequality is a thing. That’s cute.
No, it’s the legacy of the far left just as W was.
Many others could see it without a crystal ball, but Obama couldn’t see it with a magnifying glass while it was happening. He let them do this with nary a fight, meanwhile all his political consultants got rich and we got screwed. Trump and the Republican Government is Obama’s legacy.
Yes, blame the voters when their leadership refuses to fight for them and gives them nothing to vote for. Obama ALWAYS came down on the side of those with money and power.
“I’m with her” was fucking nonsense.
Bullshit. The voters were given plenty to vote for, but people like you spent 8 years telling them otherwise. You and your ilk are the biggest problem. Just as intransigent, short-sighted, narrow-minded, and stupid as the Tea Party, but too smug and too arrogant to see it.
