Discussion: Obama 'I Won' Swipe At State Of The Union Angers Republicans

Poor, sensitive little things. Always so ready to be irked.

So let me get this straight: You rudely applaud when the president says it’s his last campaign, implicitly saying you’ll be glad when he’s gone, and then you cry like beyotches when he turns your rudeness around around on you? As former Rep. Bachmannstein would say, that’s some real choots-paw.

“I’ve run my last campaign,” Obama said toward the end of the nationally televised address. Republicans in the chamber applauded derisively, which prompted the president to ad-lib a zinger which wasn’t in his prepared remarks: “I know because I won both of them.”

Not to rain on the parade, but his opponents were John McCain and Mitt Romney. It’s like being proud of beating the '62 Mets. That said, I’m glad Obama rubbed their faces in it. I’ve been waiting for six years for him to tell the GOP to shove it.

It was all ok when they made fun of him not going to be around after 2016 but when he threw it back in their face they get their panties in a wad. So typical…

Fuck 'em if they can’t take a joke.

Of course, the GOP doesn’t stop to think the president might not have gone with the ad lib if some of their members hadn’t applauded. As usual, what’s hurts the GOP is the GOP.

In typical bully fashion, you’ve got Republicans crying: “Waahhh! Quite fighting back!!”

Dear GOP,

Don’t start nothin’, won’t be nothin’.

Thanks.

This is why Republicans hate Obama so much – because the black man in the White House won’t tolerate their disrespect. How dare he?

Then he would fall off and the R’s would call everyone who laughed traitors.

That swipe may not have been in the prepared remarks but I am sure it was planned from the outset in case Republicans decided to be asshats… um… themselves.

So what the Republicans are really upset about is not realizing that Obama’s speechwriters are smarter than they are.

Yet, dear Joni Ernst couldn’t help but repeatedly say, “The Republican Majority that YOU elected!” What are those crickets I hear in protest?

So let me get this straight-

Republican partisans at a formal government event act out in a churlish, derisive manner and promptly get reminded of who is who in the chamber in the most public way possible. And now their feelings are hurt.

Simply amazing.

State dinners Boehner has attended during the Obama presidency: zero.

Did the reporters ask the Republicans why they were so rude as to clap in the first place?

Why, underneath Tom Cole’s complaint, do I hear this subtext: “Now don’t go getting uppity, boy!”
