Discussion: Obama Endorses Hillary Clinton In Web Video

Good. It’s about time!

I love the part about Bernie Sanders’ campaign and the issues he brought up. I was a Bernie supporter early on, but voted for Clinton last Tuesday because of the Sanders’ campaign’s willingness to propose using SDs to bypass the voters. But his platform is the better platform, and I’m glad it was highlighted.

I kinda wish Bernie had been a little more open to endorsing Clinton today, but at least his statement made it clear he’s done focusing on the nomination and moving on to helping the Dems best Trump.

One thing everyone needs to keep in mind is that this is a Clinton video, with her campaign’s logo in the lower right hand corner. Obama was complimenting and encouraging Sanders as a Clinton surrogate with the campaign’s approval. That’s reaching out.

Yes! Lets get this Party started!

However, he is being a little disingenuous: there have been plenty who have been as and more qualified: LBJ, Nixon, Humphrey, Roosevelt…

I figured he’d put her in the championship game. Duke’s backcourt is pretty weak and Villanova fell off toward the end of the season.

Wow. I guess this will push Bernie’s statement off the front page.

That was fast.

Great, GREAT endorsement message. It comes earlier than I expected (I thought we might have to wait until after DC).

I can’t wait for the two to hit the campaign trail together!

I’m a little surprised, honestly.

President Obama had an actual close and bruising Democratic primary in 2008 against Hillary but they put it behind them and she went on to become his choice for Secretary of State – and now he is endorsing her for president of the U.S. – I’m going to miss this man. Go Hillary!

DAMN, Barack! That was amazing!

Thank you for starting the unification process - we’re all in this together.

Go Hillary - I’m with her, too!

Wish I’d been a fly on the wall at that meeting. Sounds like BHO wasn’t open to negotiations over this.

Go ahead, Bernie. Say something derogatory about Obama after this. I dare you. I TRIPLE DOG DARE YOU! (although I’m fairly certain Obama gave him a heads up about this during their meeting, but I am absolutely sure “Supergenius Jeff” Weaver and Jane-Not-Jetson are not amused with this latest revolting development.)

Love our POTUS.
His direction has changed my life dramatically and positively.
I have the distinct impression I’ll be saying this again in 8 years.

That was already made before today’s meeting with Bernie - Barack, Hillary and Bernie all knew the outcome of this meeting before it happened.

We’re Democrats - we know how to plan for the future!

I’ve always found the best friends are the ones I had the most trouble becoming friends with.

Obama says in the video “I met with Bernie this week”. That says to me that they expected Bernie to want to hold the video for a couple days, etc, and Bernie said " No, go ahead. No need to wait." That’s a very positive sign for where Bernie’s head is with regard to being fully “on board”.
