Discussion: Obama Endorses Hillary Clinton In Web Video

I think there should be a new logo for us:
“We’re Dems, because we have heads on our shoulders and not up our asses.”

Just look at the difference in political parties:

The incumbent Democratic president heartily endorses the Democratic presumptive nominee, and his endorsement is openly welcomed by the candidate.

The last incumbent Republican president was banned from the convention nominating his successor.

Kinda sums it all up, doesn’t it?

HRC on BHO: “[W]e’ve gone from fierce competitors to true friends.”

Note to GOP (and “others”): It’s what grownups do.

I’ve made a vow to myself to stop putting any negative energy out there with respect to Senator Sanders and I hope he is now ready to do the same with respect to our nominee.

We’re all in this together and we have one common cause now - we will not allow a Trump White House.

BHO has no more fucks to give. Bernie should have realized that before he even walked into that meeting.

Yay President Obama - thank you!

Next up - Elizabeth Warren

I have been heavily invested in several campaigns in the past, and in almost all of them my candidate lost. So, I can commiserate with the Sanders supporters. It takes time to switch your emotions from a candidate to the opponent of that candidate, but it can happen. By November I suspect 90% of Bernie’s supporters will be ready to vote for Hillary. Unlike Donald, she is a very likable person.

Now that Obama has enthusiastically endorsed Clinton, I am more than ready to do so, but I was more than ready to do so months ago. After all, my last name isn’t “Sarandon”.

I’m glad he wasn’t. Now Democrats will move on. It’s now entirely up to Sanders whether to make himself look worse or not. Entirely.

I hope you’re right.

As I said on another thread, there was no way Obama would let Sanders give the post-meeting speech he gave if the President had not gotten the assurances he wanted from Senator Sanders. Once again, President Obama proves to be the master politician.

You mean Bernie made a statement? Between BHO’s Hillary endorsement and the shitstorm about Trump’s racism, I’m surprised Bernie can get a waiter to bring him the check.

Funny-- I just decided to screencap the TPM headline for posterity…

It’s a great keepsake image.

Bernie only said

“I will work as hard as I can, to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States,” [trump] “makes bigotry and discrimination the cornerstone of his campaign” and would be a “disaster” as commander in chief.

I see no support for Secretary Clinton. He must say the words he’s no doubt avoiding, I support the Democratic nominee

It’s so nice to finally say “Thanks, Obama” without using it as snark aimed at some RW asshole!

And now we have come a full circle. Inauguration day will be as auspicious or more so than Obama’s in 2009, and I once thought that impossible. Although five months seems like an eternity from here, this is a very good beginning. The anticipated strong campaign support to come from the POTUS will be something that the GOP cannot equal in terms of endorsements for their “candidate”. President Obama is Hillary’s not-so-secret weapon.

What a proud, upbeat, positive week this is for the Democratic party.

In very sharp contrast to the opposing party.

Now it’s time to start organizing, mobilizing and ensuring that victory in November!

The Democrats better not get too excited about this, though. I heard that the Republicans are coming out with a similar video, wherein Trump is being endorsed by George W. Bush.
