I know many people voting Sanders who really still love Obama and respect his judgement. This is a subtle nudge to them. He will have to get more overt about it for the advice to fully register.

You mean, altogether they have one trick between them?

No need for enthusiasm. Just realism.

I don’t think it was subtle, at all.

Where do you get the idea that “Bernie is far more likely to win against any of the Republican candidates”? General election polls at this point are meaningless. Moderates are not going to vote for a self-proclaimed socialist who is calling for a revolution. I am a moderate, and the idea of Sanders being president is scary to me. If Hillary is the nominee, I will vote for her.

Why are we still constrained by the terms of the debate that were set by Ronald Reagan?’

Yes Mr. President, that is a good question.

After 8 years of a successful democratic presidency, we should be speaking in terms more accurate and more accepting of our successes. not decades old language that was BS then, and remains BS now.

this is the biggest problem dems have. I think this Stockholm syndrome the party operates under kills the motivation for the midterms

We have been running away from the term “liberal” for so long allowing Repubs to control even central terms describing the partys that the actual definitions of the terms liberal and conservative are so skewed that their use can only benefit repubs (and “center-left” DLCers)

If we are playing politics using terms dictated by Repubs we lose. (even when we win we don’t take advantage and reshape the terms of the debate)

A book called Dark Money about the Kochs and other plutocrats by Jane Mayer who’s written about Cheney, Halliburton and their need for the Iraq war has scared me to death. They control the right wing side of politics and they will decide the course of R politics from now on.

I agree, but “realism” can be very difficult to find sometimes. Just ask John Kerry

I think that dread has been conditioned into you by Karl Rove. Overcoming it is putting Gingrich/Rove/GW Bush era behind you once and for all.

They won’t stop complaining until they have all the power. I admit to believing that Obama’s message of respect was going to be appreciated and returned. I was wrong of course.

Dust off your crystal ball and your Ouija board. They’re clouded and warped in that order.

Are you saying you’d vote for Trump over Sanders? Would you just stay home and, by default, give your vote to Trump?

Back at ya Mr. President

As are nation wide polls for the democratic nomination…

…unless using polls that are Hillary v. Bernie to make a point as to why Bernie “Can’t” win.

Hey, you asked me why I had a “visceral dread” for a Clinton presidency. I gave you an honest answer about my personal feelings. I don’t think that merits insults.

Me too

Maybe why you feel dread would be helpful. Because her policies would be egregious? Or is it the GOP reaction to her would be so over the top? Really – I don’t think there is any rational reason to fear her leadership more than Obama’s at this point – except if circumstances lead her to go more hawkish.
