The NYT is a right-wing rag.

It was reported back in 2009. Except the news media cowered in the face of right wing political correctness. So the correct question is: Why does the MSM continue to cower in face of criticism from the right? When are they going to actually have courage and fight back?

Or just start any headline with “Millennials …”

Turns out the Gray Lady is just a white man in drag. How did we miss that!?!

Wait a minute, everybody. The “we” in the headline is unfortunate–but if you listen to the excellent podcast, it becomes clear that “we” refers to the US government, federal and state.

The key takeaway is that the Obama administration was intimidated in 2009 by the rightwing brouhaha, and the MSM that echoed it, into ditching investigations of rightwing extremist groups. That spineless response backfired massively. The GOP slaughtered the Democrats in the 2010 midterms; the far-right took over the GOP, or what part of it wasn’t already far-right; and neofascism and rightwing domestic terrorism massively prospered. (A similar feebleness crippled the IRS, as we’ve read over the last few days, turning it into another state body that favors the conservatives over everyone else.) To this day we have almost no information on these groups, and of course the Republican administration will hardly order the FBI to investigate an important part of its base. And Democrats still refrain, from a fearful instinct of appeasement, from labeling these torch-bearing white nationalists as violent Republicans, which is precisely what they are.

Crap like this is why I will never subscribe to NYT as long as they are under current management.

There’s another New Yorker who does that a lot…blanking on the name at the moment. Maybe we should just say Individual-1 for the time being

People, people, it’s clearly the Royal “We” being used here, no need for alarm.

I forget where but I read a great article not long ago about how the NYT operates. The editors come up with the stories and send reporters out to fill in the blanks. Often it is a business decision driving the editors choice, but sometimes it is just a whim (hence all the “trend” pieces that reflect a very thin slice of upperclass, white, NYC life).

Ever since Judith Miller found those fucking WMD’s I don’t know how anyone still takes the paper-of-record™ seriously at all.

Coming in to this late, but all I could think of was the old punch line “What you mean “We”, White Man?”

Whenever any of my Conservative friends and family scream about the “liberal” media and I ask for an example, I love how they say, “The New York Times,” and I respond, “Well, if the NYT is so liberal, how come all us liberals hate it so much?”

Unfortunately that type of circular reasoning is too difficult for most Conservatives to understand.
