Yes Josh was definitely way ahead of the curve with his stuff on Felix Sater. That’s in the documentary, but there’s more. Basically Trump’s story is one of a steady stream of mobsters from the old Soviet Union countries.

I don’t trust Comey. Why won’t he discuss classified information in the required closed session?
Oh yeah. Now it’s complicated because I’m not sure you can point to a particular form of expression and say it’s reliably truer, more authentic than another. But boy can live TV be dramatic and memorable.

I am well aware that there are other media outlets than Fox and other citizens than Fox viewers. I am also well aware that people who are in that bubble elected DT, they steadfastly support DT despite well documented events in the real world, and they would vote for DT again if the election were held tomorrow. GOP propagandists have known for a long time that their spin is effective and no amount of reality based facts will change their approach to winning the political wars.

Perhaps I should have simply said that a public session gives Comey a recorded version he can point to if there’s any question what he said. Closed session doesn’t provide that. I’m just as well aware as you of news outlets that spin their reporting, of confirmation bias, epistemic closure, all that fun stuff. What I’m not aware of is what we’re supposed to be arguing about.

They don’t appear to care about that very much, though. With evidence of obstruction of justice from Trump’s own mouth on television, no less, they have no problem with appearing complicit as hell by not taking any steps toward impeachment or even uttering a syllable of the mildest disapprobation. No, I don’t think they care about looking suspicious. At this point, they hold all the cards, and they seem oblivious to downstream consequences.

It doesn’t have to be done in Congress. The Democrats can rent a hall in Trump’s Washington DC hotel and hold an open meeting. It would be just as catastrophic for Donald as being at the Senate or in Congress. If Comey is willing, it could be “blockbuster” ratings.
