Dead, but still needs to be buried!

I think the Rumors of the death of the GOP have been greatly exaggerated…just as the impossibility of the nomination of Trump was greatly exaggerated for the past year. How can the party be dead? As I read in a comment on another site…The GOP is finally offering a candidate that it’s base can believe in; racist, vile, aggressive, misinformed, angry, violent, and stupid. I see this as more energizing for them than a death-blow…nobody has to play the dog-whistle game anymore. Those of us who are rational need to get out the damn vote instead of having a party/wake over someone who’s not even close to dead.

This smugness has to stop…Trump must be attacked daily…Bernie needs to attack him…Trump is
dangerous and not underestimated…

Dead my ass. The same thing was being said in 1964 after Goldwater got the nomination and in 1974 after the Watergate scandal.

TPM:

The New York Daily News pronounced the Republican Party dead on its front page Wednesday, after Donald Trump swept the Indiana primary the night before to become the GOP’s presumptive nominee.

If only they’d thought to declare the GOP UNdead. Then they could have paired the headline with an image of zombies taking over the streets, eating brains, and looking for blank ballots to vote for Donald Trump.

They should cremate the beast of burden on a pyre of ritual purity so the flames can be celebrated from miles around. There’s nothing worse than keeping a dead elephant in the room, even if its only for a short while.

Here’s my rainy day music for the morning funeral rites.
Here’s hoping they go the way of the Whigs, sooner rather than later. Doubtful, but its a happy dream anyway.

Cut out its heart, decapitate it, and burn it first. We don’t need it rising from the grave like Dick Cheney.

they Democratic Party was also declared dead from Nixon thru Clinton because of all the infighting and disorganization… Jimmy Peanut was the exception…

parties have a habit of rising from the grave and I honestly feel that we need a second party with a much more moderate leaning… I DO NOT think that this incarnation of the Republican fits this bill…

This kind of split happened back in 1914, when Taft and Roosevelt cleaved the GOP. Wilson won but the party is still around today. Claiming the GOP is dead is pure foolishness.

It’s had the smell of death for many years.

I wondered what that awful smell was…

The GOP survived Goldwater and Watergate and George Bush’s Iraq war… they’ll get over Trump too.

If it’s dead, which is doubtful, it’s worth remembering a corpse will expand and then release a bunch of poisoned air.

they aren’t these guys …

Perhaps they should do as Orygun did with it’s dead whale years ago.

Agreed. Not dead. Just shedding its skin, and something far more sinister has grown in its place.

Take NO chances:
