Ok, sure, dumber persons than Nunes have been elected to office, but HOW did this clown get made the Chair for the Intelligence Committee?!? Just boggles the mind.

Thought?

Objection, assumes brain not in evidence.

I don’t know there’s been a lot of competition and I think he is holding his own.
Seriously ?
Sit down and have a chit chat with a Supreme ?
Nothing wrong with that
People unclear on the concept

How did this clown get named Chair? GOP majority. Asked and answered counselor.

Sounds like a great idea. Roberts should be held accountable. Time to haul Roberts and that Putin hack Gorsuch to answer questions.

Does he understand how government is supposed to act? Dumb as a rock.

Hewitt graduated from Harvard Law; his opinion is complete nonsense. Of course, there would be a conflict had douchebag Nunes had Roberts speak before the committee. What if the case were to work its way up to the Supreme Court? Would Roberts have to recuse? Nunes and Hewitt --two peas in the pod.

Normal for Gorsuch/republicans, not normal for anyone else at any other time.

Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch dined Monday night with Republican senators and other Washington officials.

Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) said Monday night that he was among Sen. John Cornyn’s (R-Texas) dinner guests, along with Gorsuch, Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao and other senators.

Not to mention all the wives’ events that bring justices together with politicos and donors.

That is the key question in all of this. Nunes has no background or experience in either the law or intelligence. In fact, one could seriously question if he has any of the latter. In any case, he is a dairy farmer, for god’s sake. He has two college degrees, one in agricultural business and the other in agriculture.

Which begs the question, what is he even doing on the Intelligence committee, much less chairing it? He is strictly a dilettante.

Public events are profoundly different than private ones tho.

& I’m not even sure what ‘wives’ events you’re referring to?

ETA: oh, duh me. Sometimes I’m slow. Yea, doesn’t matter with Thomas’ wife. I thought you were referring to non political fundraisers & didn’t get connection.

And then impeach them both for violating separation of powers and conflict of interest? Just askin’.

This is something that we have, like I said, we have thought a lot about this,” Nunes responded. “And the answer is we don’t know the correct way to proceed because of the separation of powers issue.”

“House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-CA) said Wednesday that he’d ‘thought a lot about’ inviting the chief justice of the Supreme Court, John Roberts, before his committee to discuss the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.”

Things Devin Nunes has “thought a lot about”:

  • Why there’s an “About the Author” section at the back of autobiographies.
  • Why restaurants offer fresh-ground pepper, instead of finely-aged pepper.
  • What a signed, first-edition Bible would cost.
  • Why Sheriff Taylor never shot more BLM protesters.
  • How Dan Quayle got so smart.

Yup, he’s a thinker, that one…

As a starter, how about Ginni Thomas’s events?

Well, Devin has not bothered to read the FISA request. Why would he since he has all the answers. I cannot believe that Gowdy -a former federal prosecutor-would go along with this. Seriously, this is insanity.

Yea, I just ETA’d my earlier reply

Nunes “Thought A Lot About?” That is hilarious!! He doesn’t think at all!

Actually, it is interesting that you mention this. The night that Anthony Weiner’s Twitter account was first hacked ( a Friday night) he had just spent the week making a stink over the political activities and employment of the wife of Clarence Thomas, and Thomas’ failure to make disclosure of his wife’s political activities and employment, or to recuse himself in dozens of cases before the SCOTUS.

Hugh Hewitt is a craven scumbag who has spent his career as a political operator pretending to be a journalist. He is basically suggesting that Roberts be brought in to pre-judge the Carter Page case that will eventually be in front of the Court.

Once again, anyone who pretends that doing anything but voting Democrat until the current GOP is weeded out, is a tool of the GOP and Putin.
