Discussion: Nunes Attacks FBI Over Flynn Guilty Plea: 'It Was Nothing Short Of Entrapment'

And how much money did YOU get from Putin, Congressman? He pays according to usefulness, so you probably sold out your country for what, a dollar bill?

Well, maybe not as lame as we would like. He is lame enough.

Is there a term for when you are about to lose the chairmanship?

How is it entrapment when you lie ?

Mulvaney is a massive snake with no heads but two assholes each with silver forked tongues. He will definitely bring even more chaos, backbiting and leaks to make your opponents look bad. Sooner or later Trump will be in a corner and need a distraction and that will eventually lead to Mulvaney being thrown under the bus because he was stupid enough to think because he’s done so well for Trump he’d never be treated that way like so many others who have done well for Trump and then were treated worse than garbage to draw heat off of Trump. The bus tire treads couldn’t happen to a better facsimile of a human being.

There goes Nunes again, picking Trump’s dirty nose! Guess the kid likes plucking out Trump’s slimy buggers!

The question still remains, WHY DID FLYNN HAVE TO LIE?

Will someone, anyone answer that question?

That’s my take.

Does he get to bring his stapler to each new job?

Although I confess I would be happy to do it just for that. But you are right.

He was re-elected so he’s one of the few Rs left standing (46 out of 53 seats are Dems), so he’s feeling feisty. Doesn’t mean he makes any more sense than he used to.

I would expect Devin to say lying is ok.
Flynn was told agents were coming over to talk to him. That should have tweaked his radar.

Aaron Sorkin has given us two great Democratic presidents, Andrew Shepherd was one and Josiah Bartlett was the other. Would that politics were always this simple.

One thing to keep in mind is that both Trump and Nunes watch FOX News all the time. Even if they’re twisted and addle-minded enough to come up with bizarre right-wing conspiracy theories all on their own, they probably get most of the nonsense they spout directly from the active hive of dedicated conspiracy theory mongers there and elsewhere in the right wing nutosphere.

Entrapment as everyone knows is when someone is induced to commit a crime that wouldn’t otherwise be committed if law enforcement hadn’t set it up and, in almost all cases, masqueraded as accomplices instead of law enforcement. How anyone can look at simply lying to the FBI and even try to pretend it’s ā€œentrapment!ā€ is puzzling, unless you realize it was probably cooked up through an escalating series of outraged huffing and puffing from the likes of Hannity or Lou Dobbs, each vying to outdo each other. ā€œIt’s not fair. No, it’s not fair, and it fact it was… entrapment! That’s the ticket.ā€

I think the use of terms like ā€œentrapmentā€ and perjury ā€œtrapā€ stem from the fact that people who lied to federal investigations felt they had no choice but to lie because they were following the orders of the President of the United States. They are conflating loyalty and honesty. What they seem to be missing is the fact that the person who put them in the ā€œtrapā€ was Donald J. Trump!

I think they might share the blame for what we have now.

However, I always knew it was just a movie/teevee series. Not reality.

Then we got Trump, the most unreal reality of all.

Someone tell Nunes that ā€œentrappingā€ an high-ranking American gov’t official who is collaborating with a hostile government is actually a really sensible action. To protect our country, you know?

Nunes is gonna be a very sad man when January rolls around.

The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle! Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing.
