Stop it. Bernie doesn’t have a chance, period.
Numbers Show Sanders Must Win Over Superdelegates To Clinch Nom
Logic should have stated this to the Sanders campaign long before now.
Like at the outset?
Respect for the process might have given Sen Sanders the environment where this might have been possible.
The decision-making of this campaign staff has been short-sighted for many months.

“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.” – Patrick Henry
Your move, Bernie.
Winning over the super delegates isn’t going to happen. Bernie run is done. The DNC would be wise to embrace his delegates and teach them how inclusive the Party can be and how they can lead the Democratic fight down ballot.
Well, he’s done a great job so far. “Hey you corrupt Wall Street puppets, can’t you see the polls say I beat Trump by even more than Hillary does. Who cares about the will of the voters, I know what The People want. And please ignore the threats of violence from some of my more unhinged supporters.”
So basically he’s going to have to burn down the Party to win.
Now, Bernie loves the Super Delegates. Just a few months ago he called the system corrupt.
He and his supporters are calling for a coronation. The voters have rejected him, and now he demands that the Supers over-ride the will of the people and give him the nomination.
"You superdelegates are corrupt lackeys of a corrupt political party that is corrupting our nation and undermining the middle class, and you’re all corporatist whores, too. Campaign for downticket Democrats? We’ll see. Maybe.
So now that we’ve got that established, vote for me."
But this cannot possibly be correct. After all, a bird landed on Bernie’s podium, and the Pope kowtowed before him, and I also believe that both the Oracle at Delphi and Nostradamus have already predicted that Sanders will be crowned Emperor of the World.
I suggest TPM hire Karl Rove to recheck their math.
I’m sure this will be making the rounds today.
Why shouldn’t the superdelegates still be in play at this point? If Sanders wins continue to surge as they have, shouldn’t that mean something to them, and shouldn’t they be able to change their vote? What’s wrong is that they shouldn’t have committed to anybody so early in the primaries.
The headline is accurate, but what it really means is “Number Shows Sanders Can Only Win Nomination By Using Super Delegates To Overturn Will of Rank and File Democratic Voters.”
Not once since super delegates were created have they ever been used to overturn the voters’ will from the primaries and caucuses. This would be an unprecedented abuse of the rules and an affront to democratic principles.
This is especially true since 10 of Sanders 18 contest wins have been in caucuses, which have incredibly low turnout and arcane rules that allow people to repeatedly change their votes. Clinton, on the other hand, has won 27 contests with only three being caucuses. Despite the claims that she has no independent support, she has won 10 of 14 open primaries where anyone can vote.
The June primary calendar is gonna brutalize Bern’s delegate numbers too.
Yes, it takes negging to a whole new level.
So… you’re telling me in your very long winded way that Bernie’s not going to win. That’s been apparent since March, and while these “if a meteor hits X, Bernie could still win” stories are charming, it’s time to stop pretending that there’s really a horserace still going on.
“If Hillary is indicted, Sanders likely to get the nod for nomination”—tomorrow’s post?
So you’re saying that Democratic politicians and Democratic Party officials-- should have not aligned themselves with a Democratic candidate who has worked for the Democratic Party and it’s goals for over 40 years? For the benefit of a recent Independent-cum-Democrat? To have not done so-- for some nebulous reasoning back in November-- in order to satisfy-- just what-- now?
Sen Sanders (and specifically Tad Devine who helped craft the SD rules when created some decades back) are, and have been, fully aware of the SD dynamic and how this would play out. Even so far as disrespecting the process, disrespecting the SDs-- in how the campaign has alternately insulted, then attempted to woo them to his side of the ledger.

Indiana was a surge? He won 3 and lost 5 in April and 3 that he lost were the biggest 3 April states.
at his age, a little dribble can count as a surge.
