Discussion: North Carolina GOP Reps To The Feds: Don't You Dare Defund The Tarheels!

Look who wants federal dollars now! LOL

Yup. I totally remember the part in Leviticus about transgender people using only their birth certificate bathrooms!

It soooooo gets under my skin when so-called Christians use weird interpretations of the Bible to excuse bigotry. Then when confronted by the hundreds, possibly thousands of times when God says, “It’s your job to take care of the poor and weak,” these same so-called Christians say, “Well, we can’t take that literally.” (Then proceed on a tirade about how they don’t take the Bible cafeteria style, like liberals do.)

OK, end of rant.

Yeah, but North Carolina and Minnesota are VASTLY different states.
We also had that moron (and former State House Republican Whip) Tim Pawlenty “in charge”.
He failed as Governor the same way he failed as a Presidential candidate (and is now the chief lobbyist for the Banking Industry.)
There is truth in the statement: “Sunlight is the best disinfectant” and once we all got the smell of the fully Republican Government we got rid of it like last weeks fish here in Minnesota.
The Republicans did take back the House in the last cycle, but may not hold it in this one.

LOL–yes, “less rigorous than they should have been”.

“We put them in classes that met degree requirements in which … they didn’t go to class … they didn’t have to take notes, have to stay awake … they didn’t have to meet with professors … they didn’t have to pay attention or necessarily engage with the material”

–Powerpoint slide shown to football coaching staff by UNC academic counselors, as quoted in the New York Times.

And yes, of the roughly 3100 known attendees of these classes a mere 47.6% of them were athletes. Good on the ol’ baby blues for their commitment to equality of fraud! But what was the percentage of total scholarship athletes that attended? And what would the percentage be of football, and men’s and women’s basketball players?

I suppose we’ll just have to see what comes of the ongoing investigations by the NCAA–lack of institutional control is still one of the charges–and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission. I’m sure UNC won’t lose it’s accreditation.

If Washington cuts you off, what are you going to do?

Hold your collective breaths until you turn blue?

Stomp and scream and whine like little babies who’ve had their favorite toy taken away?

Secede?

Go ahead. This time, we won’t stop you.

That is EXACTLY what they should do, just don’t single out the Tar Heels apply the same measure to every single public university, college and community college.

Jaw dropping. The ignorance and hypocracy of ‘elected officials’. We seriously need mandated drug testing for all politicians. “No gummint- except to pay for our beloved semi-pro Tarheels!”

And I’m also from a ‘donor’, not a ‘taker’ state.

Time for the economic boycott of the state to begin at the consumer level. I’ll miss you Cheerwine.

I say we let Texas secede and take all these confederate wackos with them. Then we build the wall- south of Oklahoma.

Oh yeah, that works. Nudge-nudge Wink-wink…

Oh hey there, it’s a Wolfpack fan! Keep regurgitating Dan Kane, please.

This is an accreditation issue, not an athletic one, and the accreditation process is working itself out. I wish I could be there when the NCAA process is finally over, because your tears will be so deliciously salty.

Definitely that.

I would have gone with the more accurate stupocolypse, but potatoe, potato…

That sounds really painful!

Quick Google says this: http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14764642/louisiana-gov-john-bel-edwards-threatens-future-lsu-tigers-football-tax-proposals-passed

Basically, “how to make dumbass rednecks care about universities”.

I thought these crackers hated the Department of Education, and the federal government. Saint Ronald Reagan would be very disappointed.
