So the CBO was off because they knew employers wouldn’t be assholes, and because they didn’t know the GOP would be such big assholes? Yeah, that destroys my confidence in them.
“Newt Gingrich was the one applauding them during when they said that
Clinton’s health care plan would balloon the deficit," he said. “So this
criticism is total B.S. The Republicans like the CBO when it says
things they want, and they hate it when it doesn’t.”
Not to overlook the critical review of hits and misses (and explanations) of the 2010 CBO review of the ACA, but I think that this is a critical point. To counter the Trump/GOP attempts to preemptively discard awaiting for CBO scoring on TrumpRyanCare, it is easy to make parallel to Spicer’s jokey way of relaying the President’s “Faith” in the truth of the jobs report last week, as opposed to all other previous job reports (which in various colorful ways Trump called bogus).
Most Americans pay their taxes even though very few are audited. They don’t just pay them because they won’t get caught, but because there is a social expectation that people will pay their taxes
Now who does that remind me of?
“They produce the closest thing you’re going to get to facts in Washington. …” Stan Collender
Kiss of death right there.
They assume the CBO report is going to be bad for them. It is really bad because Price designed the plan to hurt older rural people in particular. That is the average Trump voter is hammered by the bill. When that becomes common knowledge the Republican base could lose faith in Trump.
Exactly.
Just like a bunch of whiny kids who expect to lose the game and start making excuses. “But, the refs are going to cheat, we just know it. And the other team will cheat. And the refs want the other team to win. And the people watching are for the other team. Whaaaaa!” And any coach that would let kids whine like that should be fired - he/she shouldn’t be whining along with them.
Aiming to erode public trust in Government
Feature Not Bug.
Shown ever day in cabinet choices and Department heads that despise the programs they have been put in charge of
lol - akin to Trump’s trash talking just prior to the election (when he and all of us presumed he would lose) by shrieking that the election was Rigged! It was going to be Rigged I tell you! Same posture as the whiny kids you describe.
I agree that most of them will be hurt – and badly – but I have my doubts they’ll tie it to Trump and the GOP. I’m serious, most of them are hatefully stupid – chosenly so. If Fox and Rush and all the other AM deplorables don’t place any blame on the GOP, then neither will most of Trump’s core voters … no matter how hard they’re hurt. They’ll chalk it up to being Obama’s fault because that’s what has been drilled into their idiotic heads for years. I live among many of them. I know many of them. They choose stupidity.
They just can’t pace themselves. When the CBO score actually comes out they’re gonna wear themselves down.
And yet somehow they won’t take the credit for wrecking the system, those shy unassuming folk, those that have been ignored for so long in this country will quietly hide in the shadows instead of taking their rightly deserved place in the spotlight.
Yea you’re right they won’t connect the dots and scream “look what that black man did to our healthcare.”
Yep, except that I have no doubts about it. It’ll be the collapse of Obamacare or some other bogus claim that caused all their problems.
It’s sad. I have family who need Medicaid due to a special needs child. I’ve tried to explain the reason they initially had trouble even accessing benefits was because Virginia refused to expand the system under the ACA. I swear, they kept telling me that their problems were because of the ACA. I tried explaining that Virginia lawmakers refused to accept the federal dollars to expand medicaid benefits – so, therefore, the ACA was not a factor. They wouldn’t believe me. And, yes, they watch Fox all fucking day. Eventually, I gave up.
Comrade Stalin: Ideas are more powerful than guns. We would not let our enemies have guns, why should we let them have ideas?
Comrade Spicer: What Comrade Stalin said.
Conn College really created a winner in Sean the talking puppet Spicer…what a fascist moron.
Hey Sean, what was your roll in the whole Russia and Putin thing? We know Trump, Pence, Bannon, Manafort, Flynn, Kirchner, Miller, and Sessions all had their hands in the pot of gold filled by Putin and his Oligarch controlled Russian banks…but what about you Sean? It’s time we talk about you.
Sean: What is it like to collaborate and sympathize with the former head of the KGB…Putin and his Russian mafia!
Remember that talking head from Iraq all those years who defended and stood by Saddam Hussein? Remember him Sean…well that is now YOU!
No projections by the CBO, or by any other entity, will enlightened the dim bulbs that are Trump’s base. Only after they personally get well screwed by Trump and the GOP will the light come on for them (not even then for the hardcore bigots). Such a screwing is in the works for them. It will be epic and it will be well deserved. Unfortunately, the rest of us will get screwed along with them, but we won’t be surprised, nor feel betrayed like they will.
I wonder whether the CBO numbers would have been more accurate if Republican lawmakers at the federal and state level hadn’t worked so hard to actively sabotage the program?
While that’s all true, the Feb jobs report shows jobs created during the Obama administration.
