So Powell didn’t get her request for 90 days, nor did she get a security clearance, at least from the judge. O for 2, but still better than Flynn’s previous attorneys.
Carpe Diem, all right.
Flynn has pled guilty. If he does not fulfill the terms of the plea agreement, the guilty remains and he is subject to the maximum sentence, and probably would receive it. The headline and the text suggest something pretty close to ridiculous and certainly nothing related to Flynn changing counsel. Next time skip the fashion report.
So true in the Age of Trump, where it’s mostly Crappy Diem.
But Powell’s well-known record for bashing Mueller’s tactics and for even suggesting that Flynn withdraw from his plea also fueled predictions that Flynn would back out of his deal and seek a pardon from President Trump instead.
Flynn is dining on Chateaubriand and Lafite Rothschild '85 while awaiting sentencing and then a few days in prison before tRump pardons his sorry ass.
Best to just get on with it.
Flynn knows that now with Barr at Justice, is just a matter of time before he gets off the hook. This is not the same DOJ that prosecuted him. As seen from protecting Manafort from bad jails, Flynn will likely get paroled.
He’s expecting a pardon.
Actually, in the Age of Trump, it’s mostly Carpe Pu$$y.
He’s expecting a pardon.
This strategy worked great for Paul Manafort.
For her first public appearance representing Flynn, Powell wore a white jacket with “Carpe Diem” embroidered on the lapel.
Dear TPM,
Why?
I’ve never seen you say, “Flynn showed up at the hearing in a black Armani suit with dark blue muted pinstripes, and a deep red tie from the Trump Collection.”
Luvs,
The Boards
They’ve had plenty of reports on Manafort’s outfits.
But Manafort’s outfits and the expense of them was part of the case.
Other than that, you almost never see reporters commenting on Mens’ outfits (except a certain tan suit).
They do realize that constantly throwing in fluff commentary about womens’ outfits reinforces outdated stereotypes and objectifies women, right?
So Powell didn’t get her request for 90 days, nor did she get a security clearance,
If I was a traitor in need of a lawyer I think I’d pick one with a security clearance.
Sometimes you seize the day, and sometimes the day seizes you.
Hail seizure!
Where the hell is Sullivan’s response to the WH’s defying his order by refusing to release Flynn-Kislyak phone transcripts and relevant unredacted Mueller report sections? I’ve seen nothing further about this since it happened.
And it doesn’t look like Flynn yakking via text message with his BFF Sean Hannity the way Paul Manafort was.
So can you judge-shop by picking a new lawyer who has a recusable conflict with the judge you’ve got?
I suspected Powell was a blowhard who felt fine blowing smoke up Trump’s ass, but now that she is legally required to provide good counsel to her client she will behave.
