Discussion: No, Baltimore's Freddie Gray Did Not Have A Pre-Existing Spinal Injury

Discussion for article #235828

Why is it so difficult for these people to assign blame where it belongs, and accept it? I can’t imagine the mental gymnastics required to always find a reason to blame the victim.

“I did hear that he may have when he was running away – because he had an illegal weapon in his pocket – he may have hit an 18 inch fence or so, something like that and fell,” longtime Baltimore radio personality Tom Marr speculated Tuesday.

“I’m hearing that Freddie Gray might have sustained an injury himself while fleeing from the police on March 20, 2015,” Marr continued. “What I’m hearing is is that in order to try to elude police he jumped from a window, possibly as high as three stories.”

I’m hearing that Tom Marr’s a loathsome asshole.

Right-wing conservatives: widely and wrongly speculating and rumor-mongering, since the first appearance of Cro-Magnon Man, on just about every natural and social phenomenon, without any need for or access to evidence, verifiable observations or experimentation.

But his larynx was -pre-crushed, right?

Conservative sites are spreading false information? Really? I would love to appear to be shocked, but sadly, they themselves have made that impossible. I’m waiting for O’Reilly to come out with all of the injustices, injuries and other imaginary iniquities that he so willingly suffered in the name of “true” journalism while on the ground in Baltimore.

Watching the white conservative mind at work in the comment sections of the places they congregate, I can only feel relieved that race is a meaningless social construct.

The descent into open racism is not just racists finally showing their true stripes. They have actually moved backward since 2008. And the only thing more depressing than how far back into the bad old days they’ve retreated is the knowledge that it is all happening because their opinion leaders gave them permission, validated the racism, nurtured it, encouraged and then set it loose like an arsonist coaxing a flame into five alarm fire.

The length these fuckers on the Far Reich will go to blame the victim – making up stories out of thin air – is nothing short of hating the teachings of someone they claim to love, honor, obey, to cherish and do His good works … none other than Jesus Christ.

These haters do NOT believe in a god or any kind of afterlife – they do not fear either, which explains their actions.

I hear O’Reilly took a hard hit to the head while in the thick of it in Baltimore – those loofahs are dangerous objects when used as projectiles.

Because as long as the elite Countertop Inspection Commando Regiment of the 101st Chairborne “Fightin’ Keyboarders” Division are in existence, there will be half-assed “research” done by lifeless basement dwelling losers to supply the libels that become established immutable fact in the rightwing bullshit bubble

Yet another example of black superstrength a la Larry Wilmore - surviving a jump from the third story only to die in custody. The cops musta had kryptonite.

A pre-existing injury would not be relevant anyway. He was not properly secured in the van. Period.

These cops killed Freddie Grey, point blank. PERIOD…

What do you mean by “not properly secured”?

You mean he wasn’t in a seatbelt, and he somehow managed to sever his spine?

No, I am saying that they would not be off the hook even if he did have a pre-existing spinal condition. This is totally independent of whether the police gave him the injury. The point was that even if it was shown he had such a condition and was not beaten by police, they are STILL in the wrong. That’s the point I was making.

You said he wasn’t properly secured. What do you mean by that?

Oh, I see you already added to your comment. It’s hard to see the point you say you’re making when you say he wasn’t “properly secured.”

That’s why I clarified it, I was referring to him not being seat belted in, and the likely “rough ride” they gave him (slamming breaks, weaving, etc.).

Uh huh. Sure.

What a pitiful comment.

Yes, it’s true. I heard that the guy that did orbital socket surgery on Officer Darryl Wilson also performed the spinal fusion on Freddie Gray.

Here’s Mr. Marr’s response to an email I sent him:

¨There is an arrest record (public record) for March 20th 2015. Freddie had an illegal switch blade on his person the day he ran. I clearly noted a caller said he ran into about an 18 inch high stone or brick wall. Added again it was unconfirmed. I have refused to even mention other rumors. Carlos never assume anything is true until there is confirmation. Who is this jack ass lying about me…What station. Yes I am a public figure but under Sullivan that allows us to sue. Malice a for thought is just 1¨

Dear Tom,

¨I did hear that he may have when he was running away – because he had an
illegal weapon in his pocket – he may have hit an 18 inch fence or so,
something like that and fell," longtime Baltimore radio personality Tom
Marr speculated Tuesday.

“I’m hearing that Freddie Gray might have sustained an injury himself while
fleeing from the police on March 20, 2015,” Marr continued. “What I’m
hearing is is that in order to try to elude police he jumped from a window,
possibly as high as three stories.”

I’ve been hearing that Tom Marr fellates goats for the animal porn
industry, but I’ve not been able to confirm it through my sources. Would
you have any comment on this rumor? Do you deny it?

I wait with bated breath for your reply. Please be prompt as I’m going to
run with this on my radio program, so if you don’t deny it, I’ll assume
it’s true.

Thank you,

Carlos Fiance
