i respectfully disagree. i know very nice people who work at chick-fil-a and hobby lobby. i don’t associate their politics with that of their bosses.

Agreed,

"“He is not a reporter or editor and is not involved in political coverage. Nevertheless, tweets like this are inappropriate for any Times newsroom staffer, and managers will take the necessary steps to deal with the situation,” the spokesperson said.

"tweets like this are inappropriate for any Times newsroom staffer (unless they are about HRC)"**

Translation of NYT Statement: “Speaking truth to these people is unacceptable and can lead to us losing their PAC money, as was made clear by our phone conversations with Jeb’s campaign staff. This guy is so fucking gone…”

It’s what the employer thinks of the employees statements that matters, not the other way around. You can argue that it isn’t a just arrangement, and I’d probably agree with you, but that’s the arrangement that exists, and it’s not going to change.

The staffer committed the truth. Far less egregious that what spews forth from Fox every second.

That’s what they’ve been saying to Hillary too.

The Bush crime family is famous for inane suggestions, and for sending innocent kids to early graves for political purposes.

I’d also like to add, Fuck You, Bush.
Fuck ALL of you Bushes.

Ugh. So even though this guy was a clerk in the photo dept and has absolutely nothing to do with coverage, we’re going to get Bush and the GOP whining ad nauseam about the liberal media, the NYT, poor us, yadda yadda. They know how to play professional victim like nobody’s business.

Please. Who HASN’T told Bush ‘fuck you’. It’s practically a normal salutation when seeing this man.

I worry more about the fact that The Blaze is doing it’s damnedest to chill freedom of speech that they don’t like with their followup tweet. Especially since they seem to have gone out of the way to tie this guy’s comments to his job.

How long before they (and other right wing sites/media outlets) try to silence people by threatening their jobs?

Actually, I have no beef with an effort to get someone fired for their speech. Certainly the First Amendment does not protect your job security. I hope that employers (like NYT) can be flexible, but at the end of the day, Rush and Hanity and Coulter can all be fired for saying stupid things on the job.

Fuck you, Jeb Bush!

Be sure to include the name “Bush” in that hashtag. It’s really the best “fuck you” to Jeb!

I have seldom seen a MORE appropriate tweet.

Or if they’re not, they will be soon.

Anyway, this guy only tweeted what the rest of us say every time Jeb! opens his mouth and spews outrageous crap.
