So we have a law enforcement official telling folks to defy and ignore laws that they don’t agree with? Why stop at just the one law, every citizen should just ignore laws that they don’t like. #Fire this dude

This man has sworn to uphold the law. He’s not only saying he’s not going to live up to that oath but also inciting folks to break the law. He should be removed without further compensation.

Does anyone in this nation understand the meaning of a law any longer?
A law is a collective act, determining what is best for the community, big or small, to which it applies. If it is a bad law, it can be changed.
The rampant, almost psychotic belief in individualism prompts these people to believe that the First and Second Amendments mean completely free and unfettered individual freedom to do whatever one pleases at whatever cost to the community.
There is no such thing as a sovereign individual: a sovereign, by definition, rules a collection of people. By definition, in democracy, the sovereign is the people, but as a whole, and not one by one by one.

Any law enforcement office who advocates disobeying a law in either their public or private life should be removed from office. They do not get to choose which laws are valid or invalid. This gentleman is no longer fit for office and he should be removed.

The assertion that the membership of this organization is mostly comprised of Military Officers- educated men and women who suffer the relentless strain of personal responsibility in carrying out whatever assigned mission- is a slur on their status, position and profession.
Mr. James I challenge you on the veracity of that statement. Please provide whatever statistical proof you have. Self reporting by ‘Oath Keepers’ does NOT qualify as evidence.
As Policemen are free to end their employment at anytime, their ‘oath’ is meaningless in my view.

So, can I choose which laws to obey, too? This is anarchy and this man is not fit for office.
In a round-about way he’s saying that no one should ever be jailed for marijuana possession or use. And anyone currently in jail for such use in the past MUST be immediately freed. Because unjust law.
At least that’s what it sounded like to me.

apparently he’s trying to retire after this current term. the more appropriate punishment would be terminating his employment and taking away his pension. he’s mouthing off because he thinks it doesn’t matter anymore.

Law enforcement office holders are now an entirely separate interest group in this nation, totally exempt from the laws that bind non-LEOs.
Oath Kreepers refuses to divulge any specific information about its membership … not even the numbers. They’re skeered the gov’t. might use it to run down some KKKriminals in their ranks.
… and a quick skim of their website and a look at the articles and comments there does reveal a certain kinship with Stormfront.
