Maybe she will turn out to be persuadable. It’s not all lost money when people get welfare. They don’t stash the money away. It goes back into the economy and ends up in the registers at Wal-mart, etc which benefits stockholders.
After the tax cut, Wal-mart is riding even higher.

I would like to make one thing clear: I have convinced Trump Supporters that they’re wrong about things. Have I gotten anyone to dump Trump? I don’t know, since nobody ever admits they’re wrong while you’re debating them. But I’ve definitely shown proof to get them to drop specific attacks. And the main goal is to get them to start questioning their news sources, not convince them their entire worldview is wrong. But it’s all about proof, not opinion.
Btw, if anyone wants to be my Facebook friend, I’m happy to have any. Almost everything I write is politics and I won’t be weird about it, I promise. I’m called Rob Condor there and I look like a condor, because FB blocked my Biobrain profile; the bastards. I post more there than here these days.

Argh. It was just an example. I’m not seeing a refutation of my point about efficiency of effort allocation generally, but I know you’ll have an answer and as durable an arguer as you are I’m glad you’re on our side.

They’ll always have Kate Steinle, the woman from SF who was shot by an immigrant who was found not guilty of murder but only of felony possession of a gun. Her family will continue to be tormented by republicans.

The people who are good at persuasion need to focus on those who are Democratic leaning and need a push to go vote. Republicans use fear to get people to the polls and it works for them. Turnout for our side is critical.

Off the top of my head, Id say it’s because they’re the grownups in government. They’ll sit quietly, I would hope they don’t applaud, and then they’ll exit with dignity intact and no one will have yelled “You lie!” though they’d certainly be entitled to.

Facebook just changed their algorithm this year to make it so you get more posts from the friends you like and not trending news. I hate it. I only have 26 friends and got most of my attention by posting news from TPM and other liberal sites that normals never see, and got tons of love from liberal nonfriends and Trump Supporters coming to attack. It was great.
Now I get almost no attention at all. That’s why I’m hoping to get new friends, because they’re rewarding that now. I was surprised to see that Trump lady show up, since I haven’t gotten any all month. For awhile, just posting a TPM Trump story was enough to see a flood of strangers show up.
We used to see the dumbass stories on my husband’s FB page.
If I got on, and saw the “news”, I wasn’t a bit interested because who goes to FB to get news?!!
FB screwed up. It had better try to fix this.
