Discussion: New Poll Finds Clinton Drubbing Trump In Four Key Swing States

I enjoy all the photos of Trump that TPM uses but this one is especially humorous and apropos. Great choice.

Is drubbing an accurate description?

Treating Trump like a used fleshlight is probably more apropos…

Trump: If only more white people were uneducated, I would be winning. Liberal leanings of getting an education and going to a school is not necessarily good for a society.

It’s only a flesh wound.

But since Trump can do everything himself, he also plays the rat.

These polls are somehow making me more nervous rather than less. Could people be lying tot he pollsters?

“Factoring in third-party candidates, the Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson and Green Party nominee Jill Stein, did not have a major impact on Clinton’s margins over Trump in the poll. Clinton led Trump by 12 percentage points in Colorado (where Johnson and Stein polled at 15 percent and 6 percent, respectively); by five percentage points in Florida (with Johnson at 9 percent and Stein at 4 percent); by nine percentage points in North Carolina (where Johnson had 9 percent and Stein had 2 percent); and by 12 percentage points in Virginia (with Johnson at 12 percent and Stein at 5 percent).”

I saw a poll from (I think Business Insider) that showed a majority of 18-24 year olds going with Johnson. I’d be willing to bet that the vast majority of them are Bernie or Busters still in their temper tantrum. This is important because I do think probably at least half of them will grow the fuck up and vote for Clinton in the end. I’m noticing more and more Bernie or Busters taking significant shit from other former Bernie supporters who getting increasingly fed up with their privilege. It will get to the point, I believe, where it’s simply no longer “cool” to be a Bernie or Buster, and supporting Johnson becomes even less “cool”.

They may say they will vote for Johnson, but figure the odds of them showing up at the polls to actually vote. Of course, they will then complain that they thought they could have their Tweets and Shares counted as votes and that actually having to register and show up at the polls is a baby-boomer plot.

Clinton beats Trump, ok, but she’s letting the rest of the GOP off the hook and not tying Trump around their necks. There happy as clams as big money rolls in and they can be seen more and more as being the separate and sensible remnants of the GOP. Trump makes them look decent in comparison and nobody as far as I can tell is beating them back into the holes they crawl out of.

OT, now we have to suffer google ad choices on the main page header???

One step closer to Huffing-tpm. Sad.

I sincerely hope you are correct on this point – it’s probably the thing I worry about most regarding the election.

Drubbing? Um … hold on.

The four state polls cited here all surveyed registered voters, which tend to overstate democratic performance. See FiveThirtyEight’s explanation: Registered Voter Polls Will (Usually) Overrate Democrats and the super nerdy A User’s Guide To FiveThirtyEight’s 2016 General Election Forecast

The polls certainly offer an encouraging trendline but every nuclear triad-fearing American needs to be registered to vote and have a bullet-proof plan to get to the polls to cast his/her ballot.

Emperor Tang ain’t crushed yet.
