Don’t we have to be more assertive about our message and not tiptoe around things? I’m not trying to be argumentative here, but I think we need to give fewer fucks, worry less about GOP slanders, and just get our fucking message out. I propose a new process: Smash-mouth straightforward facts-based adult communication, ignoring the wild flailings of the corrupt opposition.
This was covered last night on Chris Hayes’ show. (His show and the next three that follow— Maddow, O’Donnel, and Williams. — are must see (or listen via podcast) TV for me every night.).
My household received a mailer for one of the R candidates yesterday and it was all about Nancy Pelosi as the bogeywoman.
I saw a bumper sticker once that said, “Jesus is my car insurance.” I wondered how he would file a claim, but I’m sure he would have said he wouldn’t ever need to. Maybe he figured if he got into an accident that it meant Jesus wanted to bring him home, and he would be dead anyway. Gone to greater glory and no more premiums to pay.
Maybe that’s why the righties don’t get it. Maybe they think it’s a way to be elevated to a greater glory. Maybe death is their way out, and the Republicons are fully ready to help them out, so just go with the flow and if some lefties get stung along the way so much the better. They are going to hell anyway but they are going to heaven for supporting their Orange Julius savior.
Sorry, just rambling.
I’m fairly certain that Republican voters will find a way to blame this all on the Democrats.
Maybe, after a few years of declining health, they’ll manage to drag their ailing selves to the polls and vote for a Democrat.
Just saw an article on CNN or Politico that says that 40% of American households can’t come up with a $400 co-payment for an E.R. visit.
That’s because birth control causes cancer, right?
There you go again…
Bringing facts to the table when these rural R’s don’t care as long as they think “darkie” is getting screwed…
Yes. It drove me insane in the 2016 election that some rural voters didn’t seem to know that the insurance they had and the new health clinic in their town were due to “Obamacare.” At the very least, Dems, take credit for the good things you do!
They do love beating on Pelosi. She’s very effective in back-office work, it seems. I’m not diminishing the role - it’s very important.
I’d like to see Tammy take-no-prisoners Duckworth as a front-office.
I don’t feel sorry for any of them. Next up: The gutting of SS and Medicare. Wonder who they’ll blame for that? Certainly not Dear Leader.
I completely agree. There was an actual fire breathing liberal who ran for president last year who was doing just what you stated.
Unfortunately his ideas were called pipe dreams. Now the Dems are running on his ideas.
There is always a chance the Dems get caught up in a tornado. Which takes them to see the Wizard. to go see Wizard Maybe then the bitc#ha$$ness can be replaced with some heart.
I find myself wondering if that’s a winning strategy, but Republicans really do seem to respond to the Two Minute Hate strategy.
side effects: uppityness
Yeah, next thing you know, those gals will want to go to college and move to the city and then have abortions that they will regret for all eternity
Remember when Kentucky had a Democrat governor and its health care exchange was the nation’s most successful, a model for other states?
Jeebus is his Co-Pilot!
You think this would be a winning strategy, yelling and swearing at people you want to bring around to your side by first telling them they’re idiots of the first order? Really?
“…the uninsured rate among adults who identify as Republicans jumped from 7.9 percent in 2016 to 13.9 percent in the first quarter of 2018…"
Only the GOP voters won’t hear about this since Fox and Limbaugh won’t mention it.
When they get turned away for lack of healthcare insurance it will be, as always, “the Democrats fault!”
Register people to vote. Get to the polls. Make Amerika America Again!
