Discussion for article #233289
Well, see… Now they do need all of the West Bank. They can talk about Gaza later.
Screw you Bibi…you ain’t no fucking Moses. You aren’t even King of the Jews. Someone already had that spot taken a couple of millennia back. Its an insult for you to act like you are either. You’re nothing more than a political opportunist desperate to get LIkudniks elected, for your own vain-glory and as a way to hold onto power. As a secular Jew yourself, you should quit playing on people’s religious fears. You’re nothing more than a fear-mongering piece of shit.
Democrats in Congress…As a Jew I ask you, please boycott his ass and deny Boner any reward for subverting protocol to get his way, especially now that he’s openly admitted his move was out of an act of rebelliousness against the President of the United States.
Riiigghhttt Bibi, because Israel has NEVER had any terrorist attacks occur on its soil…this is point blank disgusting, he’s hoping to get the more fearful to move because the more fearful are likely to vote for politicians from his party. Right wingers are right wingers no matter what country they live in…ALL use fear to gather votes.
I’m all for ir and any Zionist from here who wants to go to Zionland, should only allowed to get a 1-way ticket and then should be made to renounce American citizenship and never be allowed o return.
I’m going to do my part. I’ll stay right here in the U.S. That opens up another Jewish space in Israel.
BTW, if you’re not an ultra-Orthodox Jew, be careful of which neighborhoods you walk through in Israel. Not all will have the welcome wagon out for you.
The paranoid fear-hustling new King of the Jews has spoken. What about Iran and the P5 + 1 endangering Israel??? he can’t even keep his BS straight.
It’s sadly true and ironic that sections of Jerusalem are Orthodox “no-go zones,” but real ones, not the imaginary ones in London and Paris that the Republicans have fabricated.
What is more likely is that there will be massive emigration of Israeli Jews out of Israel when the rightist bellicose mentality represented by Netanyahu completely overwhelms and erases the idealism of the original Zionists.
Danish chief rabbi responds to Netanyahu: Terror is not a reason to move to Israel
And they get money from the state! Ben Gurion’s greatest mistake.
I’d be happy to see it -if- about 4 million or more Jews made aliyah.
No, not because I want to be rid of Jews, but because of demographics.
Right now there are about 6,200,000 thousand Jews in Israel proper and the occupied territories. There are 1,700,000 Arabs in Israel proper and about 5,000,000 million more in the occupied territories.
If the demographics of Israel were significantly in the Jews favor then Israel might be able to extend proper rights of citizenship to all who live under Israeli control.
I consider the occupied territories to be states of Israel because Israeli citizens can freely work and live either in Israel or the occupied territories and because after fifty years there is no sign of any intent to remove their occupation.
I believe that a two state solution is no longer workable and that the present situation is no longer acceptible to the world. Only by treating all peoples the same will Israel have a chance to last another generation.
That’s oldschool Zionist boilerplate. And a poke in the eye to every non-Israeli Jew in the world.
Do you think Bibi is just working the demographics to assure a Jewish majority state?
John … Mister Speaker?
< Yeah Bibi, pryminster.
Look, something just came up and now out of the blue we’re sufferin an infestation of Jews, prodigals and wanderers all coming in at our borders from the diaspora. I don’t know how long it’ll take to settle things here, but it’s pretty crazy so I’m needing a rain check on that speech to Congress.
< Bibs, compriehendee completely. I was just on our Sunday shows with Chris and all, smoothing your way to making a sudden late exit and us all supportive and stuff what with you not getting our system over here and us over here clueless about your non-suppressed voter rolls, cross-partisan coalitions, and how your whacky parlahmint works. It’s all good; we trolled that Obummer and that’s all we were really after anyway.
If Boehner allows Bibi to recruit Americans to emigrate to Israel from the floor of Congress, he’s responsible for the deaths of all of them, as well as suggesting that the USA is not the best place in the world to live. Johnny just digs himself and the GOP in deeper, deeper dodo with proud Americans with every move he makes. Conservatives don’t think America is exceptional after all?
If, please, not when. I still have relatives there who hold out hope for sanity.
Dunno about SR, but I think so. Demographic reality is finally sinking into the thick right-wing heads over there, and they realize what holding onto the territories means. And since they have no intention of ever letting them go – unlike the Labor government that first occupied them, who always saw the lands as bargaining chips to be returned for solid peace agreements – they figure they’d better do what they can to boost the Jewish population. But unlike @MartinHeldt, I don’t see that as ultimately workable, because right-wing Israelis’ acceptance of Palestinians as equal citizens will be about on a par with your average Southerner circa 1950. And it’s also true that at this point generations of Palestinian kids have been brought up on hatred of Jews; some of that hatred is sadly well-earned from the experience of the occupation, but that’s been supplemented by truly anti-Semitic stuff in their textbooks and things like a TV miniseries based on the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Contra Martin, the only way a single state will be viable is if one side is the dominant one, which will ultimately be untenable. Fool that I am, I still hope for a two-state solution; but that depends crucially on Israel’s political center and left finally getting their act together. Let us pray.
