Two reasons:

Look who’s in the photo. No explanation needed.

Look who’s in the governor’s mansion. They want the state’s voters to blame him for it.

Would it have killed him to switch parties, drastically increase the power of the plutocrats and theocrats in the state, revive traditional values by going back to the 1885 voting regulations, and mention that Donald Trump is the handsomest, smartest, wisest, and most charming human being in the universe forever? You catch more flies with honey than vinegar, Governor Roy Cooper with a D after your name! Just saying!

“…a request for disaster relief funds after Hurricane Matthew devastated the state…”

If these greedy moochers want government handouts…

Let 'em become Fortune 500 companies like everybody else at the trough.

Non-corporate takers!

Are Burr and Tillis that powerless or did they just not try? And what about the North Carolina house delegation? Did they go totally Tea Party on their home state?

We need more reporting.

And with that, the thread concludes.

You mean the delegation that includes Rep. Virginia Foxx, one of the tiny handful of members of Congress who voted against Katrina relief?

Before I clicked on comments, I told my husband that the money was probably needed in places where people of darker skin color lived.

I want instant karma, and I want it NOW.

Those tea party people are usually to vote against relief for other people, but not their own.

Gov. Cooper’s opponent in the next election will fault Cooper for trying to increase the Federal deficit by a billion dollars (and also fault him for delays in NC’s recovery from the storm).

Burr and Tillis are Republicans who would not be getting a vote from the lady in the photo, so she can fuck herself raw with the broken timber left of her home as far as they are concerned.

Indeed - if they needed money so damn badly, why didn’t they get their fathers to come to their casinos and buy nearly $4 million in chips he never intended to use or cash in?

Or why didn’t they “start” a business by “borrowing” millions from daddy and then be smart enough to inherit the rest of his money after he kicked?

Or, like bootstrapper Mittens said, just borrow $20,000 from their parents and start a small business?

Takers, what’re you gonna do…

The other 99% went to Donald’s golf course in Charlotte. The green was ruffled by the storm.

She’s from the western part of the state that rarely gets hurricane damage. Hugo in, like, '89 was the last time one made it very far inland. Mostly they hit the coastal plain where there are more of Those People and rural white people who know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.

Then he wouldn’t need the money for his state either. He can just let the poors die off.

Trump: You should start a pyramid scheme. You’ll make so much money, and you can even buy a post in my cabinet!

Objection your honor! Assumes facts not in evidence:
viz, competence, sentience, conscience, etc.

Yep. Raise your hand if you think this would happen if a Republican was in the governor’s mansion.

Will you guys knock it off? This presidenting and governing and such is really hard, especially when there’s so much going on and so many people calling you names. How’s a guy supposed to get all this stuff done, when he can’t appoint truly loyal subordinates to keep track of it in the first place?
