Sad note to leave on, but it’s really for the best.

I have mixed emotions about it but as least he is doing the right thing. No Faux News person would ever do that

Good heavens! How will NBC ever find anyone capable of reading a Teleprompter who can replace him?

I see. He’s taking himself off the air for a few days to let the story cool down, rather than have management ask him to resign, permanently. A contract worth $10million/year is worth the humiliation of being caught in a bald-faced lie.

While you’re at it Brian, stop saying you were in a “following” aircraft, implying that you were close by, and maybe even within sight, when the attack happened. Always better to put the whole truth on the table.

I very much do not like this. I don’t think it’s a big problem. I think it’s a tempest in a teapot and I don’t understand the fuss.

As I said above, part of me feels sorry for him but the money he’s made reading the news, he’ll be fine.

To my fellow workers:
With sadness and a heavy heart I must inform you that I too will be taking an indefinite period off from my job. As you all know, work is hard, and we would all prefer not doing it. So I have decided to stop. Please don’t worry about me. I will be fine, as I plan to continue collecting my full salary during my time off.

Thank you for you support.

He’s smart enough to do stand-up comedy…

Or emcee awards shows.

Execs at NBC knew about his bogus stories for at least a year but couldn’t understand why the golden boy who had it all would inflate his resume and yet didn’t have the cojones to fire him because he was so golden.

Jay Leno asked him if he was an anchor android and he said this proving that maybe he can do stand up.

“Not that I’m aware of,” he said gamely, in his anchor-desk baritone. “I can deny the existence of a factory in the American Midwest that puts out people like me.

So there was this police chief in a small town and he did a school talk, used the bathroom, left his pistol on a windowsill or something, some kid found it and told a teacher, and the police chief suspended himself without pay for a week. Maybe two weeks, I don’t remember. He didn’t fire himself, that much I’m sure of.

Um, a top news anchorman makes up fake stories about the events he covers, and it’s an “oh well…”? It wasn’t just this episode, but a habit pattern with him. It’s time to let someone else read the news. A journalist he isn’t, and it’s time to stop passing himself off as one. All he is now is a classy looking guy with a trained voice. We lost a real journalist with Dan Rather because of ONE (shared) failure to adequately investigate one piece of information, not even making it up. IMO he was worth ten of Brian. This is just as bad as a chronic plagiarist, etc. He ought to be fine financially… a lot finer than many an honest grunt who actually works for a living.

Right, at best he was a half hour behind. That is the equivalent of one car moving at 60 miles per hour and the second at 30 for an entire hour. That creates a big gap and that is the best case scenario.
He’s doing everything except giving up the whole truth, this will dog him for eternity. Another bad and hole digging move Mr. Williams.

Or he’s taking his paid vacation and calling that something it isn’t too.
A few days won’t change anything as far as NBC is concerned, it may do his own reputation a little good just because the world will move on and Ryand Paul will do something dumber by then but NBC is a fixture and the damage is done.

Self deportation, OMG, let the jokes begin. Get the Hook! Exit-Stage Right!

Eric Bolling on Fox today:

“Reports say radical Muslim jihadists killed thousands of people in the past few months alone. And yet when you take Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, whatever, their combined killings in the name of religion––well, that would be zero.”

If it was that easy, they would not pay him $10 mil. Plus he was the managing editor, so he was in charge of the content that went on the teleprompter. You think reading news on air is easy, go for it.

He’s a jerk for lying, but it’s not as easy as you think being a news anchor for a national newscast.
