Discussion: NBC News To Interview Snowden And Greenwald

Discussion for article #223066

It’s so odd to see TPM go from full-throated Greenwald bashing to referring to him in every article as “the Pulitzer Prize winninng journalist.”

Hello, memory hole.

I hope there is question about why he would not come to face the consequences for his civil disobedience.

What was it we said? Grifters gotta grift?

In this case it’s not restricted to Pernicious G, either.

I’m not holding my breath this will be anything other than a softball arrangement. If it’s more than that I’ll happily say I’m wrong, but so far everything these two have done has been completely self-serving to them. I expect this to be no different.

Of course their reasoning for him not facing consequences is no longer viable, since Pernicious G has been in/out of the US several times despite his claims he would be snatched up by Black Ops and renditioned…or killed.

Just another moving goalpost in this telenovela.

Apropos of what you just said, I thought it would have been CBS to get the gig.

I thought Snowden’s deal with Putin was that Snowden gets to stay in Russia if he stops bashing the U.S. So I guess we’ll be having a spy trial soon.

I think that at the end of the interview, Brian Williams should use his powers as a citizen to slap the cuffs on Snowden right then and there! And Greenwald too!

Can’t say I’m interested in anything the traitor has to say.

Thanks for the heads-up! I’ll be sure to miss the interview. But if you could provide a list of the show’s sponsors, I’d be most appreciative.

Putzier Prize winner would be more appropriate, IMHO.

I agree. On one hand, the revelations were needed in order to change the way the NSA does business. On the other hand, I give Snowden no purchase for doing so in a cowardly way. To borrow a phrase the right is in love with, he should’ve stood his ground. Say, stay, and pay, to put it another way.

I hope you will tell me why he should subject himself to a biased nation for persecution? Light is the best disinfectant. Snowden is a hero. Of course, the reich wing will never agree. They prefer their persecution to be practiced in a torture chamber away from public awareness. Some day, W will pay for his evil and murderous regime, in heaven in front of his God if not on earth.

Leave the truth teller alone.
