He’s a bigger, better racist, it’s as simple as that.
I would like to believe that is campaign rhetoric. He is still jockeying for some say on the Democratic platform, and comments like this help towards that end.
These are unlike what he was doing about 2 weeks ago, which is accusing the DNC of rigging, and the elections being unfair. In my mind, that was completely unacceptable, because it discredited the only Left of center political party (worse, it was based on untruths).
But Sanders has absolutely cut back on that rhetoric. As a presidential candidate he is obviously not gonna sing Hillary’s praises until the race is over. The goal is that his criticisms should be things he can back away from. A corrupt process was dangerous precisely because he couldn’t back away from it. Hillary needs to win my supporters isn’t, because after the primary Hillary can make a few concessions to Sanders in her platform (frankly, she would be thrilled to do so, because their platforms are only different in degree, and only because Hillary thinks Sanders’s claims are unachievable), and say that Hillary has convinced him that she would be a great President.
The truly ridiculous thing about Sanders’ remarks on MTP is that he’s even on MTP at this point in the first place.
jesus. He’s one-a those people? Holy fuck.
Here, too. It’s amazing how he took so many of us from “I’d be fine with him if he wins the nomination,” to, “How could I have ever thought he could be a reasonable alternative to Clinton?” He accomplished that all by himself – his opponent didn’t have to do a thing to make him look bad.
I thought Chuck Todd felt it wasn’t his job to correct misinformation. Is he trying to stain his lovely stenographer credentials?
No, I think minimum wage jobs are best served by those just starting out – which used to be the case. Sadly, many people now working for minimum wages are in their twenties and thirties, and many of them are trying to support families on these meager wages.
That’s why I was in favor of President Obama’s American Jobs Plan, which would have created two million good-paying jobs doing the vitally needed and long-overdue work of rebuilding and modernizing our dilapidated infrastructure.
That’s why I also support President Obama’s executive order to lift the threshold for overtime pay, so that people in lower-middle class jobs classified as “management” but which largely feature entry-level scut work can finally be fairly paid.
Hillary Clinton has a detailed plan to do just this to revitalize our public facilities, and she would not raise taxes on middle-class and struggling families to do it…
NO, the evangelical leaders couldn’t deliver their people to him. Hillary is mistaken if she believes the leaders of the various old line Democratic single issue constituency groups can deliver enough voters to her. Those leaders are growing older and out of touch. The people they can’t control, 46% of Democrats I guess, are the people voting for Bernie.
Don’t get me wrong, Hillary needs all those traditional single issue people, but she needs a lot more in addition.
Superdelegates ARE “NOT” REQUIRED to follow the will of primary voters; ergo, it is not unreasonable for Sanders to opine that ignoring/overriding the will of primary voters is outrageous. Who thinks it isn’t?
Those defending the existence of superdelegates claim that they exist as a last line of defense to make sure that, in extraordinary circumstances, a radical candidate who could NOT win the presidential election isn’t nominated.
It is not hypocritical of Sanders to point out to superdelegates that Clinton is less likely to win the presidential election than he is. Since they exist to make certain that the primary election doesn’t produce a candidate who CAN’T win the presidential election, doesn’t it follow that they should make certain that the candidate MOST LIKELY to win the presidential election IS nominated?
Or are corporate Democrats simply doing whatever is necessary to hold on to power at all costs?
Especially the one who’s losing despite his opponent having not unleashed 80% of her oppo research on him.
People like us–politically engaged, deep-divers into news links, unblinkered by devotion to him (or, let’s face, it, Hillary; mostly we’re for her, and there are things we like about her, but we’re not in love with her in a way the blinds us to her faults)–know it is out there. We know the details of a lot of it: the child support problems, the icky socialist pedo-tinged porno, Jane’s shitshow fail parade presidency of Burlington College, the gamma-ray intensity red baiting that will be directed at a selected few slices of the demographic. But none of it has been pushed through the Drudge to MSM puke funnel into larger public awareness. And FFS let us not forget that the National Enquirer, which is practically in Trump’s pocket, is now a legitimate source of “Because it’s Out There” reporting for the MSM Asshats.
And knowing that shit cannon is pressurized and just waiting for a target, it positively makes me want to vomit every time I have to listen to Bernie hectoring on about how he’s the best candidate and ought to get the nomination, those pesky voters mystified into voting against their class interest by Hillary’s filthy, corrupt money notwithstanding.
Talk about insulting,
our friend here. Nope. just a regular ole Democrat who has seen the likes of Bernie/Nader and their minions fail time and time again. The American people are not buying the flimflammery that they are selling.
You have deeply learned the lessons of the last part of the 20th century, but the pendulum is swinging back our direction. Sometimes you have to adapt to new realities.
Yes, but you say this as if there were no reason for it.
And a lot of us DON’T want a single payer health plan. And a lot of us don’t want free college for all. And a lot of don’t want to break up the banks (whatever that means to you or Bernie today). And if I am establishment so be it. I am proud to be the “base” of Hillary Clibton’s base. You appear from all of your posts to be a bitter old man who just doesn’t like the Democratic Party (ala Bernie Sanders) but are too lazy to do anything about your disappointment other than come here and complain.
I am excited -very excited about supporting the first female president of our country. I am proud to live in a country where I, as a single mother, was able to go to college and law school as an adult - an achievement possible here but not so much in other countries. I am proud to live in a society that allows one to break out of their social economic class if they have the potential to do so. I don’t want to live in a socialistic country where opportunities are limited by one’s birth.
Everyone knows that our society and our government can do more for those who have been left behind. I think everyone can agree we want to give people more opportunities to achieve their goals. I do believe in the goal of helping those who need it.
However, don’t blame HRC for the demise of the middle class, outsourcing of jobs, high costs for higher education or fewer government resources for low income families.
Hillary Clinton is not just the only Presidential candidate who has the intelligence and determination to understand and analyze the many complex issues that exists in our society, she is one of a handful of people in our country that can accelerate the process started by Obama to bring us into the 21st century. We should all be celebrating the fact that this country is fortunate enough to have someone of her caliber willing to swim with the sharks for all of us.
If you accuse me of blindness to her so called faults and that she is a flawed candidate so be it. I am sick and tired of all the nit picky crap that is thrown around about her and her so called establishment positions. Think you can do better then jump into the swamp.
What we are today started in 1980. It has been a long time coming. Fight for the person who wants good for our country. Fight for the person who knows she needs the help of others to achieve a better structure for our society that reflects our society today. Not the sclerotic mind of a man who is holding on to a past that is extinct and never hekd much promise anyway.
Well said. I saw him on on the Sunday shows. Very disappointing. I have been patient telling myself: “Bernie will do the arithmetic or math. Relax” A fortnight ago I gave up. This man thinks he is on Vanity Parade!!
It’s a really powerful and sort of a life-affirming event when someone can claim independence, actually live (comfortably, hopefully) off one’s earnings (and whatever tax credits due, etc.). It’s especially so for anyone with children. Kudos to your daughter. And a tip of the hat to you and the Mrs. for assisting your daughter when she needed you.
Howling at the moon, again, Bernie?
And that indictment works best with diehard Republicans and millennials who were not politically aware in the 1990s when most of these personal attacks against the Clintons were first aired.
Those attacks have since been discredited, but many of these young people are hearing them for the first time and have yet to sort out the BS from the truth.
And the fact that Hillary has “left wing interest groups” that are “lined up” in support of her are a testament to her political strength and her lifelong devotion to liberal policies and to disenfranchised people.
This is beyond the pale. Of course Republicans would be using the rape text out of context like you are doing here, but I am glad that the HRC campaign is smarter than you.
As to Levi Sanders, he supports his father and he was a constant presence in his life, to call this dead beat parenting, just because Sanders was broke early in life is another low blow.
Dial down the hysteria. The California primary will be over soon enough settling this once and for all.
