Discussion: NBC Host To Sanders: Your Take On Superdelegates Is A Bit 'Hypocritical'

Here we are the end of May and if the comments on this thread are accurate, establishment Democrats are blaming Bernie Sanders for winning 46% of Democrats to his message. Lots of hate directed at Bernie Sanders, lots of nasty thoughts, lots of willful ignorance. Bernie isn’t going to win, but he has voiced the concerns of 46% of Democrats. It would seem to me that instead of arrogance and hate establishment Democrats ought to be asking themselves a simple question, what can we do to answer their concerns. Poorly delivered position papers aren’t good enough. Reaching out to interest group leaders who don’t have the pulse of their own members isn’t good enough. Maybe it is time for people to realize that Bernie’s campaign isn’t a cult. He is giving voice to a lot of good Democrats who feel ignored by the Democratic establishment.

Hillary is going to win, but don’t assume the Sanders supporters are just going to fall in line, There is a reason they have flocked to a 74 year old socialist. The challenge to the Democratic party is in front of them.

You can venture over to Salon if you need a daily fix for a non-scandal that is her email server being worthy of the International Criminal Court.

But it does remind me: I wonder if disciples of SuperThief Edward Snowden have no problem with either his theft or continuous leaking of information, while no one can show precisely what was leaked from her email server.

No, he’s not. She sat through an 11-hour Torqemada session with a great deal of composure and has long been subjected to every ugly right-wing smear for decades. She does not need him to “toughen her up.”

Let’s talk about Ohio. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be playing its final playoff games into mid-June at Quicken Stadium, and the RNC will begin on July 18. The RNC therefore will not have the necessary six weeks they need to set up for the hoopla but only four weeks, and the RNC knew this could happen but agreed anyway. File under tee hee.

I presume many Sanders voters will complete the reboot of Ralph Nader’s 2001 run. There was also a reason many people flocked to him as well, you know.

46 percent minus an unknown number of “independents” who have said they would vote for Trump in November leaves ?

Wow, you still stuck on whistle blower Snowden? Yea yea I know, he’s a traitor.

Randy, do you know how Clinton and Sanders matched up in blue state victories and blue state popular voter totals? Looking for an angle.

I don’t TRUST Bernie Sanders.

He wants to OUST two WOMEN, Hillary and Debbie and replace each with a MAN. This race is about GENDER EQUALITY and Berne by his actions has said which side of the line he stands…ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS…And seriously IF he said TODAY, that he wanted to replace Debbie with another women, IT’S TOO LATE BABY. Hell hath fury than a WOMAN scorned…Feel the BERN Mr Sanders,

Tell me.

Democrats seem to have forgotten that the job of any party is to grow by converting independents to their cause. You seem to be among them.

Feeling lazy this morning. Thought you’d have that in your massive vault along with your Obama’s great accomplishment’s list.

If the Sanders’ campaign would ever release detailed information about how they propose to accomplish ANY of their policy promises … maybe reactions would be different -----

I didn’t know this about Mrs. T. but Google tells me she advised Webb before that in his previous candidate incarnations.

First, I don’t consider myself to be an “establishment Democrat” but I have supported HRC since the beginning of this primary season. I was 100% behind Obama at the beginning of the '08 campaign as well.

Second, it is clear to people like me who engage in political discussion in real life and not just on comment forums that many of the people who voted for Bernie in the primaries did so with the solid belief that he’d never win and that they would support HRC without a single reservation. These are intelligent, knowledgeable people who vote in every single election, year after year, not just the fancy presidential years.

And, as many of us have stated numerous times in the past, if Sanders becomes the Dem’s nominee, we will vote for him without reservation because the stakes are far too high to allow the asshat on the other side to even come close to a win. If Sanders’ supporters need more incentive than that to vote to keep Trump out of the WH, they are not true believers in Bernie’s stated goals, they are simply “my way or the highway” ideologues who aren’t worth me wasting my breath.

Sorry to disappoint. I thought you had a point to make.

No, I am actually committed to helping the Democrats grow the party.

But I think Hillary has done a good job capturing the majority of Democrats and liberals, and I think she will also do a good job of winning over moderates and sensible independents.

We can’t win by just focusing on the most disaffected, alienated portion of the public, which is what Bernie and Trump are doing.

Ah… yeah, that would make you an Establishment Democrat.

I do but need you to do the research.
