Chairman Nadler’s actions have prematurely terminated the accommodation process

The accommodation process whereby we, the Republicans, do whatever the fuck we want, when we are good and fucking ready. If ever.

This has been a very good day for the House Dems.

They confronted the challenge head on and relished the fight with the GOP. After the GOP got through their usual spate of lies, they actually sounded almost conciliatory with respect to Nadler’s demands.

My body language read of the Congressional GOP is that many don’t believe that Trump’s stonewalling will work. They’d rather use the hearings to spin up a defense for him, using the materials from Mueller if they have to.

I’ll reiterate again that by the plain wording of the resolution, the Dems officially opened an impeachment inquiry today because the resolution relies in part on impeachment as a justification. That justification would be used in the courts to prevail against any privilege claims and to assert the dominance of Congress’ Article 1 powers.

Where the Dems need to clean up their act a bit is on messaging. They should stop this tortured, Hamlet routine on the topic. They’re investigating. What they ought to tell the media is, “We’re investigating. Trump is stonewalling. We will prevail in the courts. We will investigate and evaluate. At the end of that process, we will assess the question of impeachment. Impeachment is on the table, period. It’s not off the table until we say so.” If you just keep repeating something to this effect over and over again, you’ll win over the media, get support from your base and put the GOP on the defensive.

Does Nadler have the courage to play hardball? These criminals need to be facing imprisonment for convictions, or fined / property confiscated if fines not paid. The criminals have to face a negative life for themselves if they break the law. I do not believe this government has the integrity to survive any longer. It is now fragile, ready for dismemberment by civil war. Prepare yourself accordingly.

I’ve heard audio clips from Democratic Congress people from whom I’ve never heard before. Our challenge is to create an honest buzz about what’s going on.

We have a career criminal operating the powers of the President of the United States.

Why “just waiting to hear”? They’ll simply inform you that Nadler has now conceded they were right all along.

Meanwhile, two teenagers died fighting armed assailants in ONE WEEK here in our schools. It’s beyond noticing and naturally “thoughts and prayers.”
