What is the over/under on assertions of executive privilege?
Is this a first step in getting Allen Weisselberg.to testify under oath before Congress?
Canât help but think about the 2 years wasted in exposing and fighting this corrupt kakistocracy with no congressional oversight. So damaging. I feel like the clock is ticking loudly, but happy to hear this from Nadler.
Looks like the RMS Trumptanic is about to hit a Weisselberg.
Captain Spanky - âhold my beer while I ram this guyâ
Can someone please post a link to the âJawsâ theme music?
And to the Repubs who say that the House is wasting its time, thereâs a good rejoinder: âRemember Benghazi.â
I hope now all the people who have been calling for Nadlerâs head on a platter for being too timid will pop around to apologize to the guyâŚ
Democrats found their sea legs this week. The first month was taken up by the government shutdown, which was essentially Trumpâs Waterloo or Battle of Saratoga from the standpoint of Trump being able to push a policy agenda and impose his will on the people.
It was towards the end of the shutdown and around the time of the Buzzfeed piece that I (and many others) were saying that the Dems have to chart their own course on Trump and not be Mueller dependent. It would take the pressure off of Mueller; it would get at items that are not necessarily part of Muellerâs scope; and the national security and fitness to serve questions are the purview of Congress. These questions are much larger (though not by much) than what Mueller is charged with investigating.
The last straws for the Dems were all the bogus stories on the Mueller probe ending just as Mueller had uncovered ironclad evidence of âcollusionâ on the Manafort track and had indicted Stone and had essentially laid out the collusion path, holding back a few pieces to be filled in.
After that happened, the Dems kicked it into high gear and the Cohen hearing has now given them legitimacy to go after Trump far and wide.
âWe will be releasing the list tomorrow of over 60 entities, people, et cetera,â he said, specifically naming Donald Trump Jr. and Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg.
If itâs what you say it is, I love it.
Iâd respectfully disagree. We in no way want them to claim that a fully-legitimate investigation into the massive crime and corruption at the heart of this administration is akin to the fake and bullshit political harassment hearings of Benghazi.
While Weisselberg is undoubtedly the big fish here, I hope one of the 60 people or entities to receive document requests will be McGahnâs CoS, Ann Donaldson. Apparently, she also kept extensive contemporaneous notes on her and McGahnâs conversations and interactions with Trump.
In the context of Comey and McCabeâs firings, the offering of Pardons, and other acts involving Obstruction of Justice, she should have significant information. Not to mention the Kushner security clearance matter, which though not illegal, raises many questions.
Will Hope spring eternal?
Shit. Get. Real!
Thereâs going to be the imprint of a lot of witches in those documents.
Or, at least, one big fat witch with a cell phone.
Donât need 60 doc request, just one that reads:
Submit all documents viewed by, communicating with, or referencing Donald J Trump.
Easy.
About time.
This is sublime.
