Discussion: Mulvaney: A ‘Good Shutdown’ Would Prove Trump's Point About Dysfunction

Aside from being a hardcore ideologue, this guy is so unqualified as to be ridiculous. His greatest business achievement was to squeeze $30 million in taxpayer subsidies for a real estate development that went bust — quite the libertarian, eh?

Unfortunately blaming the Dems is a good strategy in a country where so very few of the electorate actually know how a budget passes. I guarantee you that in 2020 POTUS will run against “The Do Nothing Dems” …

He was willing to match healthcare dollar for dollar if Schumer and Pelosi voted to fund the wall.

The Dems have to get off the sidelines and start appearing on TV 24/7 with real proposals in catchy form. We are for repairing the ACA and here is how. Let the media compare and contrast.

The GOP holds majorities in both houses and the WH and cant do jack. Oh yeah dumper negotiated in good terms…by calling people names, intimidation and threats b/c he couldnt get his way. I guess this wanker doesnt know how much harder it will be to try to blame other for their dysfunction in September…

Screw you Mick…it is not your JOB to tell us how and when to ‘behave’. You should think back to the last 8 years when you and your fellow TeaBaggers were so incensed. Was THAT ‘behaving’???

Mulvaney: “But to the extent the President advocated one today, if you wanted to imagine what a good shutdown was, it would be one that fixes this town. Also, argle-bargle. Plus, gobbledygook. So there. I rest my case."

As best I can tell from their behavior, the Libertarian position is to privatize profit while socializing costs. If that’s correct (and I believe it is) then he’s quite a good libertarian.

Fuck budget negotiations! Get back to the investigations. Until this is settled, no other government business need be done.

Trump and Mulvaney are right. Let them force a shutdown. This time, however, the entire government should shutdown, including social security and Medicare funds, which disproportionately impact elderly Trump GOP voters.

Why should the Democrats give Trump a scintilla more of respect than he gives them? He’s the President (for now), not a king. And if he is determined to get a shutdown, let him proceed.

It’s truly sad that there are so many evil, incompetent, dishonest, obnoxious cabinet members that, on any given day, I can’t pick the worst among them.

The Democrats are not children or dogs that should “behave” just because some Republican is whining about not getting what they want. Just like his boss, maybe Mulvaney should read the Constitution. Just because you/your party aren’t “successful” doesn’t mean the system is dysfunctional. Or the corollary, you’re dysfunctional, not the system.

Actually, wedgie, your presence demonstrates all the dysfunction that is Trump’s brain.

hahahahahahahaha

This shit from the party that shut the government down twice rather than let the sitting President get anything at all done. I know they can hear themselves; they obviously don’t care.

But come the fuck on, dude - y’all took an oath before Obama was even sworn in to never cooperate with him and you obstructed every damn thing you could.

Is it really savvy if you also write the legislation for your stock picks?
