Well, if anyone knows about dysfunction, it’s this administration.

what a crock of pure, unadulterated horseshit. First of all, WHEN exactly did Trump negotiate “in good faith” with the Democrats? Secondly, the idea that Trump gets his way or else is so disgusting, so contrary to our Constitutional government, that anyone putting forth these ideas is clearly violating his/her oath of office.

And what on earth is a “good shutdown” anyway? One that costs billions of dollars? One that hurts hardworking government employees? One that accomplishes nothing in the end (like Cruz’ shutdown several years ago)?

This sound like “I am going to hold my breath until you say yes and if I pass out it will show how dysfunctional this all is” - a truly remarkable argument

I am beginning to think that this Mulvaney guy is almost as crazy, venal and destructive as Trump. Lord help us all

“I think the President is frustrated with the fact that he negotiated in good faith with the Democrats and they went out to try and spike the football and make him look bad,” Mulvaney said, presumably referring to Democrats’ taunts that Trump got almost nothing his White House budget advocated for."

Wow - how we forget so soon. He seems to have forgotten that he was a member of the House Freedom Caucus along with the entire House and Senate Republican Caucus that did the exact same thing to Obama for 8 years straight.

“Good Shutdown” is an oxymoron.

And the only dysfunction I see right now is in the White House and the Republican House, and particularly in a “Fake President” who likes to invite international murderers to dine with him in the White House.

What is a good shutdown?
I dont know.

Why do you want one?
We have to do something different.

The end,

“Sooner or later, we’ll have to start doing something different,” Mulvaney said

That starts in 2018 when Democrats take back the House and start investigating the dysfunction that is Trump and his administration, including Mr. Mulvaney.

Did anyone ask this dweeb why the Democrats matter at all? His folks control the government…all branches of it. the GOP can do what they like. With the exception of a Senate filibuster there is nothing the Democrats can do to stop them. In the case of the budget they stopped themselves. As for shutdowns please do. If you need a blueprint call Newt.

“And a strange and distant voice calls from the far reaches of the rabbit hole… O Alice!, O Alice! better put a couple more plates on the table and make up some more salad. Mr Trump is bringing Mr Mulvaney and a few more guests with him when he transits the looking glass tonight! And please remember to to add some of Mr Trump’s favorite mushrooms to the main dish?”,

In the real world, Mulvaney would have gotten the boot for his ridiculous budget proposal that (thankfully) went nowhere. Mulvaney lost big time on his first project. How could his boss still have faith in him? They just can’t help themselves in flaunting their ignorance and incompetence and isolation from reality.

“Sooner or later, we’ll have to start doing something different,” Mulvaney said, adding: “If we get to September and it is still business as usual, business as usual, business as usual and nothing changes, and takes a shutdown to change it, I have no problem with that.

So repeatedly insulting Democrats in public, calling Schumer a clown, Warren Pocahontis, Pelosi incompetent is Trump’s idea of negotiating in good faith.

OK, I’ll give you Pruitt. But since Betsy is apparently low-profile, show me a more deliberately obnoxious–and eagerly so–appointment than this creep.

I completely agree with Mulvaney - things in Washington need to change. The sooner the better. And one of the absolute best ways to hasten the changes I’m thinking of would be to have the GOP-controlled Congress and GOP-controlled Executive preside over a shutdown of the federal government.

Please proceed.
