Excellent observations! Too many people live in ignorance and fear – and too many others are happy to exploit that.
Most of 'em don’t work up to potential, like they say in school.
Except in Lake Wobegon, where “all the women are strong, all the men are good looking, and all the children are above average.”
I don’t think it was even remotely terrible. Not even kinda bad. Considering the fact that AL is about to send a child molester to the Senate, I’d say it was quite prescient even.
ETA: My hope is that MSNBC and other news outlets learn from this. It’s worth whatever distress it may have caused Sam if left leaning news outlets finally stop trying so hard to appease the right and wake up to the fact that there’s literally nothing they won’t do, say, or distort in furtherance of their agenda.
The thing with Michael is, he is really well informed too and has a pretty deep knowledge of history, when he is serious, he is good. His voices and characters are ok, his Obama impression used to be amazing.
He just way way over does the voices, way over.
It was a spot-on tweet that illustrated Sam’s position perfectly: “Don’t make excuses for child molesters.”
My favorite is Ben Carson. I also like Flynn’s son. “Hey Dad!”
So, this happened yesterday . . .
So true. We’re all frazzled.
Life can be so easy when one has the character to admit mistakes and learn from them!
I believe this is where “we don’t negotiate with terrorists” was founded on. Fuck Cernovich, I hope he cries over this
Autocorrect alert.
Autocorrect always wants to change “quite” to “quiet”. Track it to its lair and disable it before it does real harm.
My guess is when WaPO ran the interview of Seder where he name checked having been called by senior suit Errol Cockfield BEFORE his firing who asked him who Mike Cernovich was. After Sam explained the context behind his satiric tweet and cern’s troll history yet still got fired anyway, it made Cockfield (such a fitting name) who is MSNBC’s Senior VP of Commnications look like an utter tool.
He couldn’t have liked getting pilloried on social media but I’m even more sure he didn’t appreciate getting clowned in the hallowed pages of print media’s venerated institution Washington Post. Especially seeing how a number of other publications ran with the story citing his folly with WaPO as its source including that Vox article.
I have a sinking feeling that Democrats in the Senate will come to regret not asking more questions about Franken and pushing him out without his Ethics Inquiry.
Knee-jerk reactions are what Dems do best.
The only thing terrible about it is that it is easy to misunderstand if you don’t know who Sam Seder is and the only thing you read from him was a single tweet.
MSNBC didn’t have that excuse, and, as @mattinpa implied, taking a Cernovich-generated controversy at face value should have been a career-ending move for somebody at MSNBC.
Autocorrect is you’re friend. Donut bee sew hard on it.
Phil Griffin is a bigger boob than some of the dolts who hire on to sharecrop for Uncle Rupe.
The only point Griffin ever gets is the one he sees in the mirror before he simonises his pate.
Sam Seder is the sort of voice that MESS-NBC needs to hear from more often. But after something like this, is anyone who works for “Mr. Clean” sure at all about their job security, let alone their chance to say what they think on air?
Oh, Sam, how much I wish you had the financial resources to tell MSNBC to fuck off and die. And shame on every other journalistic outfit for not immediately leaping to hire you at double your MSNBC fee.
Cowards, all of them.
MSNBC has has gone down hill since being bought by Comcast. They consistently bend over backwards and give
right-wing Repubs time to tell their lies without rarely confronting them, especially Chris Hayes who seems like he wants to be bros with the likes of Scaramucci and Carter Page.
Me, too.
