I was not aware that Bibi had any difficulties in getting to talk to members of Congress â whenever he wants. And since he has already been very clear about what he, as Prime Minister of Israel, wants the Congress of the United States of America to do, there is no reason for him to bother making the trip. Nor is it at all appropriate for the Speaker of the House of Representatives, whose general interest in foreign policy has been shown by his not bothering even to attend a single State Dinner hosted by the President of the United States, to conspire with him to use Congress as a backdrop in order to publicly sabotage the foreign policy of the United States for primarily partisan purposes. It should be noted that even Sir Winston Churchill did not get to address a joint session of Congress until after Pearl Harbor, on the day after Christmas, 1941. And the idea of honoring a man who intentionally and clearly dissed the Vice-President of the United States by giving him such a forum is disgusting. Even if that Vice-President were to have been a psychopath like Dick Cheney, it would be disgusting.
As an American Jew and a Zionist, let me point out that contrary to his claims, Bibi does not speak for all Jews. He doesnât even speak for all Israelis, and with the coming election for which he wants this photo op itâs not even clear that he speaks for most Israelis. And he most assuredly doesnât speak for me.

I know the typical thought is that the person who shouts the loudest wins, but really isnât the person who wins the debate the one who keeps calm and finishes with the perfect retort?
The GOTP perceives they have no option but to counter the Prezâ executive orders by conducting foreign policy. Bibi needs a showpiece to show his electorate he can deliver.
End result: Netanyahu will stumble over his speech (to a half-filled Congress) so badly that even non-Hebrew speakers will notice. Joe will blame Mika and the Prez. Bibi and Brian will likely lose their jobs. Joe will keep his at least another six months.

Everyone realizes that Morning Ho is a Republican right? If you keep that in mind, all of his Mika bashing, sickening arrogance, Israel/ Boener stroking and silly adult frat boy look makes total sense. He loves Christie too but I have no idea what that means. I guess it means that he just isnât playing stupid?

Frankly, I find Scarborough to be a boorish human being. His arrogance is beyond off putting. He can not get far enough away from his right wing partisanship to be a believable part of reasonable debate. i sometimes check in to see what is the topic of the day. Today I stumbled on to a feisty Mika whose hackles were up. She gave Joe a well reasoned argument against Netanyahuâs invasion of Congress⌠If you watched only occasionally you would note her usual adoration of Joe. Today was a welcome change. Maybe I will check in more often.

MSNBC WAS, some years ago, a child of NBC, which itself was âownedâ by GE. GEâs top owner-manager group enjoyed the IDEA of owning a large mediaplex, but not more than the bottom line. Plus, GE erred in thinking of Fox as a âcompetitorâ in the sense of the two playing the same game
(whereas,in fact, Fox was playing a game in which the main fan base was/is Archie Bunker, with a massive largely replenishing core of Nixonian old white resentment, loaded with Goldwaterian energy cells but both heavily disguises by flashy streaks of Reaganian sunbed mythology).
But then Comcast came in, with itâs supposed âco-ownershipâ idea. But the shares arenât equal, and Comcast is using a very different set of measures, plus Comcast has rejected the GE model of largely passive ownership with occasional interference and veto use. Man, what would TPM write about if Scarborough went off the air? Actually wander down to Congress to speak with staffers and officials? This site has kind of gone from inside baseball to inside ESPNâs show about baseball. It feels like I could get the same in-depth coverage of the dayâs events by tivoing Morning Joe, The Daily Show, and the OâReilly Factor.
