Discussion: Mormon Leader Reaffirms Faith's Opposition To Gay Marriage

So…kids …

Let me ask a question —

How many of you are afraid to express what you really feel because of the
certain condemnation by your church and family if you do ? ? …

Thank you —

If we’re going to have Cult News, couldn’t we get some with snakes?

Or some Scientology - with some really bad pulp fiction.

Trump won the electoral vote in Utah, but go ahead and blame a “declining world” on LGBT people just trying to live their lives.

Of course the Mormen cannot say what is wrong with gay sex except that they hates it, hates it, hates it. They cannot say what gives them any right to tell other people who they can have sex with except to allude to an imaginary god.

This is nothing but theocratic authoritarianism run mad.

You may not have known this …
But I just happened to be at that service —

Whether they are aware of it or not or are willing to admit it or not, non-traditional coupling of any sort threatens the power of the patriarchy. Plus gay sex produces no children, which ultimately reduces tithing income.

Money and power. Follow the money (and power).

Good for the Mormons. But I still reaffirm my opposition to homophobia and gender bigotry.

Maybe that’s why so many gay LDS men marry women and have children but live on the DL.

It’s in their instruction manual, along with trying to convert anyone who cares to listen. Lazy thinking leads to believing in the big papa in the sky. Simple as that.

Ummm…Amen?

I’m not against encouraging young people to dress professionally but, this photo doesn’t sit very well with me. It isn’t just that everyone is white, but the sameness of their appearance is really creepy. Kids at this age like to make a statement and express themselves through their clothes and hair. This is just so unhealthy.

I attended a professional meeting at Utah State U in Logan. My wife came along with me, because she’d never been to Utah.

On the USU campus, she was amazed by the lack of people of color. There were essentially none but the athletes. Utah really does look a lot like that picture.

yep …

Indoctrination at it’s best ! … and the really sad part …

is that by this time in their lives … various internal conflicts manifest —

It’s literally legal child abuse in the name of religion —

One wonders how they will ever be able to live and function outside their own community. The world today looks so much different than what has been their comfort zone.

They are down with some under aged girl love, down get the apostate wrong, but lets say, NAMBLA leaders won’t be attending any Tabernacle break downs any time soon.

The Mormon religion also frowns on soda and alcohol but is the owner of PepsiCo I think and maintains control of licensing and alcohol sales throughout the state.
Basically they charge a service fee/cover charge at all establishments except the liquor store.
FYI; My info is at least 10 years old

How odd: most science fiction aficionados are quite tolerant in their beliefs.

Let me guess: she clung to you the entire time and said, “Don’t fall asleep!”

Who gives a tinker’s damn about what ANY religious sect says/thinks, much less one that believes its founder looked at rocks in a hat in order to divine a message from an invisible man in the sky? Really, people? Really?
