Discussion: More Good News For Senate Dems In New Polling

Heller jumped in the pot, then reached out and turned the burner on. He chose to be cooked.

Agree strongly that these polls should be taken only as inspiration to find ways to help make the real vote a win for the Democrats.

ALWAYS run as if you are 3 points down, no matter what any polling is saying.

Well you know that every bad thing that ever happened in this country was because some liberals were not liberal enough.

Although the republicans are working hard to help the Dems: with the Greitens scandal in MO, and if the WV GOPers nominate Blankenship (ā€œit’s-alright-to-kill-miners-as-long-as-you-gave-them-a-job-while-still-aliveā€), Manchin can take a breath. I do fail to understant the attraction of Floridians to Scott, but there you are…

Sorry, I may have gotten a little too obscure. I was totally agreeing with @irasdad, riffing on the one group he omitted,

That being said, Joe Biden is not the answer for 2020…

Agree, but how is Tennessee not a gimme already with Marsha, Marsha, Marsha Blackburn running? Please…

There was no mention of how the feuding and criminal Rs in MO are going to help McCaskill keep her seat

ā€œSay it ain’t so, Joe.ā€

Isn’t that the body that ā€œreal newsā€ conservatives say is run by China?

Careful. I’m still stung by our 2016 efforts in Arizona and elsewhere when our own firewall states needed the resources. Tennessee is a maybe and Texas and especially Mississippi are unlikely. I’m not saying don’t fight, but let’s be realistic.

There might be some DINO’s in trouble, Manchin, Heitkamp, to name two, and the incumbent Dem Baldwin in WI.

Well, if the answer is, ā€œJoe Biden in 2020ā€, then someone has misunderstood the question.

Even if the Republicans cling on this fall, how much of a swing will there be in 2020 downticket from votes against Trump?

I don’t even want this question raised until after November 6.

I love Joe. I am very glad he’s on our side. I doubt very much that he will a) run at all in 2020, or b) that he would win the nomination if he ran. But if he did, I would vote for him rather than for the Republican and rather than for any lefty spoilers.

I don’t know about Texas.

Alberta Ted won through an accident of history. He’s running as an incumbent, but from what I could tell in southern New Mexico he isn’t much liked (much less beloved) in Texas. Beto O’Rourke is running a really strong campaign so far.I think Beto has a very reasonable chance of bringing it home.

If we remember that Donnie Two-scoops is perhaps the biggest projector since CinemaScope, we are left to figure out what the tea leaves meant when he said (in ā€œsupportā€ of the good Dr. Jackson), ā€œI wouldn’t do it.ā€

Does he mean he wants to quit now (oh, please, please, please!) or does he mean he won’t run again? Who knows? I doubt that Two-scoops himself knows.

What I won’t believe is that there is no element of projection in his statement about Jackson.

Trump: I am so much better than Obama. He couldnt do squat about turning the red states Blue. I didnt even have to lift a finger. I am smart and very white.

Texas is still awfully red. In the last best Democratic year, 2008, Cornyn beat the Democrat by nearly a million votes. It’s been eons since there has been a Democratic Senator from Texas. I’m sure rooting for Beto. Tail Gunner Ted will have no cake-walk this time.

Encouraging, but let’s not count eggs.

You’re right about McCaskill. Tough crowd. Ugly battle. And Nelson in FL up against Scott. Scott spent 30 mill of his own money in last governor’s race. But winning the Senate would put the brakes on everything.
