Discussion: Mom Of Santa Fe Victim On Meeting Trump: 'Like Talking To A Toddler'

When he did visit the 9/11 Memorial it was as part of a campaign photo-op with Mel striding alongside him in her 12-inch stilettos and a passel of photographers who made sure the optics were just perfect. Plan ahead grief.

Who knew we elected a mensch who only pretends to be a psychopath.

And right after, he looked up “muscular dystrophy” and “contagious”.

Why do you hate our “Real 'Merican Patriots”? /s

(But exactly the idiotic reaction you’d get from Trumpers…)

A Donald Trump Production, coming to a neighborhood near you soon, because Donald wants to show off his “softer” side some more, and he needs dead bodies.

Very presidential.

Sorry, I had to. She’s got more interesting shit to say than Trump though, that’s for sure.

In order to solve the problem, you have to want to solve the problem. In the meantime, the clock ticks away until the next mass murder

Shadows and fog. That’s all Trump is in this situation.

Remember how Hillary needed to show the American public that she was warm?

Nothing shows empathy like “Trump then headed to a fundraiser at a luxury hotel in downtown Houston”.
Trump is down with empathy. Overflowing. Best empathy in history.

The toddler is also most likely attempting to understand what’s happening.

It’s about finding ways to funnel state money to the NRA/gun lobby so it can be returned to the GOPers who did so in the form of donations. One might think of it as “laundering” if one was so inclined.

He seems to have no problem touching Ivanka at every opportunity.

I have a hard time believing that anyone who has such a mean and vicious streak in him to mock and demean others is capable of compassion. I just cannot wrap my head around that.

The toddlers I know are bright eyed, look eagerly at things around them and do seem to be trying to understand what’s going on as grown ups talk to them. They also smile easily. In their own way they’re smarter and more grown up than PP is.

I think it was the boy who reached out to PP who was seated and he couldn’t not respond while the cameras were rolling.

Replied earlier before I saw this. Ivanka seems to be the only person he routinely touches every chance he gets. I have never seen him even put his hand on the shoulder of one of his sons, and it’s especially notable to see how he never is in close proximity with Barron, a kid who is at the age when any display of recognition (never mind actual affection) from is father might be something welcome. Even dads who aren’t “huggy” often show some kind of attention to their kids and don’t shy away from at least a physical pat on the back once in awhile.

I’ve always said he uses his family as props to push his narrative as caring, family man who just happens to be an affluent psychopath. I believe Mel’s love for her child is genuine, but all the cliches about boys needing their dad’s love and attention are true. We saw how President Obama spoke of his children, full of love, embracing them, sometime self deprecating as they became teens, but always sincere and caring. That’s how it should be.

Barron is already destined to be a sick piece of work. I look for big (cruel) things from him in the future.

I’m always saying that he is constantly ruining someone’s big day. However, I think you’re right. Having him intrude on your worst day would be infinitely worse.

Barron seems to be vaguely autistic or with Asperger’s Syndrome.
Trump wouldn’t know anything about it or how to deal with it—so his natural inclination to ignore Barron is double harmful to the poor child.
