Bribery, extortion and criminal investigations have become synonymous with the Republican Party. They are really living up to their rich reputation for graft, war profiteering and evading taxes.
From Harding to Nixon to Romney and Christie, none of them think that corruption and greed is criminal. That anything shady is sinful that they do in the name of Jesus and Country.
But not in 2016.
You canât believe how many Southern women relate to what Hillary went through with Bill over the Lewisnsky impeachment. They have established a bond that no Republican smear machine can break. Both the redneck women and the gentile ladies of Old South are sick of being taken advantage of by the men in their lives when they work outside and inside the home.
All American women from every economic and social background want the world to acknowledge their strength and courage in holding together their families during hard economic timesâŚwhile still experiencing discrimination in the workplace and in their family planning.
Hillary will bring them to the polls in numbers not seen since women first got the vote in the 1920s. They will be voting for their civil and human rightsâŚthe survival of their middle class American Dream. They will not vote for conservative GOP misogynistic candidates, male and especially female revisionists.
Democrats will overcome Republican voter suppression and gerrymandering. Itâs the feminine manifest destiny of our party that will raise up all other minorities, too.
If Bill was the first black president, Hillary will be the first Hispanic president as well as the first woman. That makes her an iconic figure before the campaign even starts.
Let the Republicans run against baseball, apple pie, Social Security, income equality and motherhoodâŚand the Declaration of Independence. They just canât keep a good woman down.

Make no mistake, there was no misjudgement of character by McConnell. Mitch McConnell wanted a campaign manager that would knowingly distort the facts and blatantly lie, thatâs why McConnell hired Benton.

Am I mistaken, or isnât Kentucky one of those states where you canât run for more than one federal position at a time? If Rand Paul runs for President in 2016, he cannot run for reelection to his Senate seat, correct?
Imagine having two new Senators in Kentucky by 2016! Too bad Jack Conway isnât available.

It isnât the crime, itâs the cover up that will get you.
First, a couple of explanations

Under some circumstances, and elections are among them, offering cash, goods or services is called a bribe and is a felony, even here in the notoriously âethics-challengedâ Old Dominion. Our appalling example of this is vitamin salesman Jonnie Williams, who offered cash, loans, vacations, clothes, wedding gifts, and I donât know what all else to our former governor. Whether the Governor accepted, or actually did something in return, is immaterial to Jonnieâs depredations: itâs a felony, and if convicted (and itâs clear the Feds had the goods on him) he was looking at a very long time in jail. Thatâs why Jonnie Williams turned states evidence: not often discussed in this case, in which the Guvâs attorneys claim that since the Guv didnât managed to actually DO anything for Jonnie (the staff shortstopped it)Jonnie did give him goods and services, and thatâs enough to get the felony conviction. Of Jonnie. That is what Jesse Bensen the now "former chief campaign manager for Mitch M, is alleged to have done in the Iowa case.

Accepting the bribe, at least here, is called âtheft of honest services.â The Iowa state senator, who apparently wa a real player, who accepted the bribe, pled guilty, and is facing up to 25 years in jail. I think we can assume that if this highly connected, Republican state senator, who was a major player in both the Bachmann and the Ron Paul campaigns, pled guilty to these charges, the feds likely had him cold, and on worse.
According to the press reporting, it was someone on the local GOP who outed him. Might have been a disgruntled Michele Bachmann supporter, but it could just as easily been some ordinary person who saw and did not like. In the Virginia case, it was the mansion chef, who catered the wedding, didnât get paid, was told to take the difference out in the form of food from the mansion, and then accused of theft.
Man was totally pissed off. He squealed everything he knew. In Iowa, according to a November 2011 email exchange later made public by Iowa Republican activists, Benton played a personal role in recruiting former Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson from Michele Bachmanâs presidential campaign to Ron Paulâs. Which means, if the Feds choose to indict him, and they havenât at least not yet, they have him.
In his guilty plea, Iowan Sorenson spilled his guts, probably in an attempt to reduce his sentence and said the Paul campaign gave his wife a $25,000 check, which he did not cash, and then paid him $8,000 a month in payments concealed from the Federal Election Commission through a film production company. The money totaled at least $73,000 throughout calendar year 2012. Thatâs less than half the swag the Governor of Virginia is alleged to have converted to his own use, but maybe buying a state senator in Iowa costs less than buying a sitting governor.
