In reality Michelle Bachmann lodged a public complaint against Ron Paul in Iowa back in 2012 accusing him of bribery. She alleged a prominent state senator was paid off to change his endorsement from Bachmann to Paul. After an investigation Kent Sorenson denied the allegation and three days ago plead guilty to receiving about 70K to change his endorsement. The payments were made in the form of film consulting fees.

Benton was Paul’s campaign manager, was Rand Paul’s campaign manager in his senate run and the Paul’s mafia consigliere. Benton is married to Ron Paul’s granddaughter.

I was wrong Benton is married to Ron Paul’s granddaughter. Things are not going well in KY but this is serious. The feds have recordings, emails and now Sorenson’s admissions.

The ripple effect on this one could be huge! It definitely rocks Yertl’s boat quite a bit, and just might rock the Randroid’s chances in '16 – though I have no doubt he’ll come up with some way of throwing all and sundry under the bus and insist he had no idea what his father’s son-in-law might have done while managing his father’s presidential campWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHH!

McConnell and Grimes were tied up to this point. Let’s hope this buries McConnell once and for all. It’s amazing he’s held on this long. He incredibly unpopular in Kentucky, his campaign has been a disaster since day one and Grimes is a viable alternative who’s already won a Statewide election. I can’t imagine why she’s not ten points ahead by now.

I don’t know which I find more mindblowing–that Michelle Bachmann was complaining about corrupt politikin’ given the pig farm-like stench that routinely rolls off all of her campaigns or that something that sounded like Michelle just saying random crazy things the voices from the aether told her turned out to be true.

One thing that isn’t mindblowing is that libertarian nutbaggers thought it was okay to just buy an endorsement. Because markets are inherently good, right?

I’ve read a couple of accounts today indicating Benton has been pretty intricately involved in Rand’s burgeoning 2016 process… if that’s accurate, this could be a twofer on the Kentucky senatorial contingent.

It was from when he and McConnell were trying to put a little lipstick on the pig that was recordings of Benton saying he was holding his nose for two years to support McConnell in order to help out Boy Genius Rand.

You’re right that she is just far too heavily scripted. She’s got the same problem Gore had in 2000 of having a campaign run by people who seem to feel like she’s campaigning in such a hostile environment that the slightest deviation from the script will set off a piranha feeding frenzy and yet the very tight message management is also creating hostility.

Start the ad with the tape of McConnell swearing allegiance to the Kochs and follow up with his dirty political bedfellows. With any luck this will destroy Mitch’s career and Rands hopes of ever getting the nomination (he would never see the White House). The karma being levied on Republicans, across the board, is awesome to behold.
