Discussion: Militiaman Launches Campaign Encouraging More Ranchers To Stop Paying Grazing Fees

Quite simply, they’d just “pull a Rand” and have “the Freedumb Liberderpy Non-Treezun We The People Patriotic Murka Review Board” certify all the communist-marxist stuff you listed.

What would be a fair comparison? Renters not paying their rent. Beggars being choosers. Having your cake and eating it too. Greed coming before the fall.

If you apply the free rangers logic to other circumstances, it is clearly seen as preposterous. But their cowboys so they can Yeehaw it up all the way to the bank, the Federally insured bank that is, until the cows come home.

OK, they get their wish, they can mooch and we’ll let them but the silly standoff is going to cost them 5 million dollars for building rent, repairs, penalties and fines.
That’s US, federally issued dollars.

The US military, that a militia is supposed to bolster, could have to settle this rabble rousing and that might be the first time that a militia was redressed whilst attempting to redress.

Stevie is way too smart for that…

Before then people died regularly from eating bad meat and taking “medicines” based on arsenic and heroin. Never read The Jungle, did you?

Sooner,

I’m glad to hear that you got a satisfying PM back from 1988Ranger. But…we had a fellow here a few days ago with the handle 88Ranger who got the boot from PublisherMike on Jan 12, a permanent boot. Looks like 1988Ranger appeared on the same date. I believe it’s the same person.

88 is used by neo-nazi/white supremacist types as code for HH, or Heli Hitler. Mr 1988 has toned down his partisan rhetoric/uninformed talking points a bit.

These welfare ranchers really are something ain’t they?

There is no adverse possession against the federal government.

Mr. DeFazio (D-Ore.) — Mr. Speaker, well, the lights and the heat are on at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge, illegally occupied by ultra rightwing, antigovernment extremists. But you have to wonder if the lights are on or anybody is home down there at the Justice Department. Hello? I don’t think there is anybody there.

I believe that this illegal occupation, this destruction of Federal property, was directly emboldened by the fact that the father of the two leaders, Cliven Bundy, stood down the government 2 years ago when he owed $1 million.

Other ranchers pay their grazing fees, and he refuses to do it. He was grazing in areas that were prohibited. He stood down the government at the point of a gun, and he is still illegally grazing.

Nobody—nobody—at the Justice Department has seen fit to lift a finger against him. There is no ongoing prosecution. They haven’t put a lien on his cattle.

He celebrated the anniversary of the takeover and said: This is how it is done.

Now his sons are replicating that in my State of Oregon, where we abide by the laws. Yes, we disagree over a lot of Federal policies, but we abide by the laws.

It is time for the Justice Department to take some action. Wake up down there.

Woo boy, let’s incite more sedition. Sounds like a fool-proof plan, Leroy.
[/quote] In 3 weeks, his stunning pigheadedness has only cost him a $100,000+ annual income for grifting/underaged uncompensated labor, with no hope of restoring such, plus an avalanche of Federal charges about to tumble on him.

He has no other income because his ranch makes no money (apart from having been part of the now-terminated cushy criminal grifting scheme exploiting the evil government). How’s his wife gonna live without the income he pissed away? And him teahadding in the jailhouse before any jailbird stupid enough to entertain his idiotic lectures?

Interesting, I was unaware of this.

Thanks!

It is called history. All those pesky agencies and regulations came into being for a reason. The reason is that without those regulations and the agencies to oversee them, some businesses behave badly. Unlike the Libertarian dream, some cut corners, rely on short-term gain and use the profit advantage that they get from behaving badly to drive out of business those who engage in better behavior. Unsurprisingly, an economy run by sociopaths does great harm to everyone.

This isn’t a class issue as you seem to be trying to make it. Except for the fact that sociopaths are more likely to be among the “Rich” than someone with a conscious…

I am in the collision repair business and i agree there are those that can only be characterized as greedy or lazy, do cut corners on safety procedures and roll the dice. Does make it a lot less profitable for those of us that do it right when we are over regulated for the few bad apples…

Strawman argument.
Those regulations were in place when you boot-strapped your way up to buy your business-- correct?
And you were aware of the regulations before you bought it-- correct?
So, you willingly bought into the business with eyes open-- correct?
I would expect the regulations were put in place at at time when there were far more ‘bad apples’.
And those regulations are in place to keep those in your industry from considering unsafe practices-- agreed?
So those regulations are necessary to keep even ‘more bad apples’ from appearing-- again.

Don’t moan about regulations-- when a situation like Flint, MI is occurring-- because regulations weren’t followed. It’s a huge and horrible example of how criminality occurs when regulations that are in place are dismissed out-of-hand.

Consider what might happen if this were to occur across the nation.

Read about the real reason the hammonds are in prison right here.

It starts with 1. This fight started with seven deer.

It is a bit long winded but he seems to have some really good points and is not a wack job…worth a listen.

I’ve heard all I need or want to hear from this Militant Constitutional Scholar. There are many venues for voicing one’s grievances and opinions in this country other than the one he’s taken.

It did not work for Native Americans at Alcatraz, 99 percenters at Occupy Wall Street and it will not work out well for him. Messages tend to get lost in all the illegal activities.

This guy is supporting seditious behavior and is a criminal.

I and many others are headed over to Burns tomorrow, it’s time for this to end and for these occupiers to face criminal charges.

Can we expect film at 11? Save to assume you aren’t there for the bird watching…

Not for nothing, but what does a cattle rancher have a use for seven small buck? I am a hunter and enjoy venison but it is very lean and therefore not quite as tasty as beef or bison. To take the chance of getting busted for poaching deer when you have thousands of head of cattle just seems…um…stupid! I know what your gonna say…

The collision repair business is not the only sector that suffers from that. The smaller the margin, the greater the temptation. And the food industry has some of the smallest margins with materials that tend to spoil if not cycled through the market fast enough. Not to mention the cleanliness issues. The latter can be a serious problem even now. Even the smallest relaxation on cleanliness can result in people dying.
