Discussion: Militiaman Launches Campaign Encouraging More Ranchers To Stop Paying Grazing Fees

How is it in their benefit to kill their customers…as in dead…as in lost business…as in lost revenue. I am a simple man. I am a business man in the Boston area so if you are a rancher that can answer some of these questions that seem very simple for you but its just not my field of expertise.

They are doing 5 years in jail for poaching deer? seems a little steep!

You’re guilty of trolling.

Should I flag you?

Ranger - The Hammonds have been a nuisance with childish behavior and bad neighborly actions for decades. They abused their relative and left him to nearly die in the fire. They committed blatant arson multiple times - not sympathetic characters.

RIght-Wing fear has resulted in anti-terrorism laws with purposefully loose definitions so the rights of individuals could be thwarted at will per the Right Wing fear-based politicians and their voters. So what goes around comes around where nuisance-rancher finally gets caught for something that can be loosley interpreted and, low and behold, the bad actor doesn’t get the break his entitled white ass was expecting. Welcome to right-wing law making and prosecution. Then local sympathetic (pathetic) judge breaks the law on his retirement and gives the entitled their entitlement. Law is law and Feds say follow it and the Hammands go back to jail - what’s not to understand?

These are armed moochers, societal vermin with teeth. It’s time to exterminate their kind. But instead we’ll just exterminate thier ideas and let them live in prison for awhile to think about it.

And even with protections we have there are still food borne problems. It shouldn’t take much of an imagination to think what would happen if there were no regulations. Something like what we’re experiencing in anti-vaccine types perhaps?

Freshly birthed troll, at that.

Is a 1988 Ranger the vehicle he owns? No wonder.

Yup, though he’s good at thinking he’s playing the “I’m just some innocent little one who just doesn’t know” before TERRORISM!!! Clearly paid by the entry rather than the word.

OK, I found an article describing what the Hammonds did and one …a wordy pdf from Homeland security that has in it that a fed worker got 3 years fir setting a forest fire.
The Hammonds, as I said have 12,000 acres of their own land and have used considerably more that that of reserve land. They’re of the mind set that because they’ve used it for grazing they sort of own it. And so they see no reason to pay the grazing fee. There has been a “difference of opinion” between them and the gov’t going back at least 20 years.

Some ranchers, certainly not the majority, choose to see themselves as sovereign. Cliven Bundy for example has said he only recognizes the state of Nevada’s laws, not federal laws as to him the federal government does not exist. I take that as an extreme view point

Yeah, except it is the law, there is that. Your trolling is cute, you innocent trolley you.

The squatters aren’t asking to buy the land, they want it for free; and if they won’t pay grazing fees, why the hell do you think they’d be any better at paying taxes?

Yep and let’s talk about who this guy is. Before the New Year, he ran an illegal child labor camp at his unprofitable ranch and even got paid handsomely for doing so by the government. This was basically his only source of income and he got paid over $100,000 a year for this “foster care.” Part of the contract had to be that he and his wife needed to serve as positive role models, free from criminality, while living on the spot and physically providing the “care.” But by fleeing the state to publicly play Morons and Indians, he threw all that away, lost the contract, and now he has no income.

All he needed to do was shut up and play ball and he stood to receive his ill-gotten $100,000 plus yearly in perpetuity, plus the illegal free labor. But because of his extreme self-destructiveness and the natural consequences, of course he is looking (in vain) for new options. :unamused:

These guys are making trouble because the world changed around them and they don’t like it. Well a lot of us have had to deal with change, a lot of it due to George W. Bush – some lost lives, some lost jobs, homes, savings, pensions. Maybe we should all throw a temper tantrum. I sure as hell don’t give a fuck for people who want to use federal land any way they want to, and then not even pay a grazing fee that is little more than a token compared to it’s market value. Tell them if they miss a payment at the bargain rate, all future payments will be at market rates, maybe they will be required to post a bond to gurantee payment of future grazing fees, or maybe they don’t get to use the land at all.

They already had a JURY TRIAL and they foolishly presented these same shameful lies to the jurors. The jurors didn’t appreciate being taken for fools and cravenly lied to, so the convicts have been sentenced accordingly. You don’t need “impressions” when you have a factual record right in front of your nose.

“What is a welfare queen?”

I see you and others have been trying Mask. Ranger is either a child or he playing with us – in any case, he hasn’t gotten mean, so its OK by me if he hangs out. The up side is that he supplies a service in his own way. He helps hone our arguments – so when the time does come to confront that neighbor or co-worker or family member – we’ve thought it through and can be a really persuasive, informed voice of reason. I’ve actually been following this story along with everyone here and have learned more about the backstory on this situation just by reading your responses to Ranger. On the flip side, if there is a chance he is sincere, maybe something has sunk in.

Convicted by a jury who had already been obliged to listen to all these obvious lies.
