Amen, and Birther Trump plays right to the that ignorant group. About 22% of Americans supported Nixon at resignation, so there’s always tha core 25% of complete dumbfuckery. Do agree that smart politicians have to be aware of messaging, but not when it comes to the Ingraham crowd.

The 2012 Republican National Convention was centered around Obama’s use of one sentence taken ridiculously out of all context. “You didn’t build that,” four freaking words became four nights of the entire Republican Party in primetime on all the major networks screaming about what they built. Nothing we say or don’t say won’t be twisted around by the far and even moderate right to mean whatever it is they want it to mean in order to demonize us. I doubt anyone will even be talking about this anyway, but you can bet your ass if Cummings hadn’t said they would be consulting with the Mueller probe before any testimony, the right wing would be leaping all over that claiming it as proof Dems don’t even care about the Mueller probe.
