It’s time Dems took some ownership of the Russia investigation. They can work with Mueller to avoid conflicts. Mueller has been carrying the ball for the Republic for a while now. Dems were elected to check Trump and to save the Republic. The GOP are either treason curious or treason agnostic, and it gets worse among actual core Trump voters. They don’t even think we’re part of the same country as them. They voted for Trump to ‘hurt the people he’s supposed to hurt’, which means Democrats (especially POC). Let’s gain more control of this investigation. Let’s come to the terms with the fact that a foreign power actively engaged a campaign and conspired with them to steal the election. Let’s come to terms with the fact that Trump is a crook and an illegitimate POTUS.

The report will be dry, and its unclear how it gets out and released. Cohen will be the first to publically say what a crook Trump is. That is really, really important.

My feeling is chances of him being impeached and found guilty is zero.
It is better to damage this turd, have him defeated in 2020 and prosecute the he’ll out of him.
In the mean time neutralize him and the GOP. Exposer is all ways a good thing.

I think what’s important here is video reverberating out there of an important person in Trump’s world describing his crimes and debunking his lies in a Congressional hearing. We haven’t had a lot of that yet, and it’s needed for people to really take it all in, see it as real. They shouldn’t, in an ideal world of perfect citizens, but in this one they do. It needs to look and sound like the incredible scandal it is. And this will begin that. I hope.

And no we can’t worry about what they say. They talk shit constantly. They talk shit to your face - outrageous lies. It doesn’t matter what we say they’ll turn it into something else. And what goes on Facebook is definitely not something one can worry about if one isn’t Mark Zuckerberg.

Am I missing something here? If Cohen testifies, and contradicts anything he had already told the SC/SDNY, doesn’t this expose him to new liability? Doesn’t that behoove some degree of honest testimony? And if so, how is that bad for the American public?
