Thank God. He would have made things tricky.

A good call by Mr. Bloomberg. I look forward to his campaigning for the eventual Democratic nominee, or for a candidate in the primary, as he sees fit. I wouldn’t like to vote for him, but I appreciate that we share a tent together.

Good. Now we need one more (Biden) to make the same calculation.

Wealthy former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg won’t run for president, he announced Tuesday afternoon.

He has also done good work supporting various causes (as opposed to candidates, I mean).

I give him high marks for spending his campaign money effectively.

Awesome, it would’ve been a fool’s errand anyway. Plus, his money would be much better spent championing the issues he believes in instead of throwing it away on a doomed campaign. Good decision.

“The richest thing about Donald Trump is his hypocrisy.” – Michael Bloomberg.

Now, if we can just convince another 437,519 Dem candidates to drop out…

+1. I would have been happy to have had him as the nominee (or better yet VP candidate), he would have crushed Trump, but (a) I would not have voted for him, and (b) I don’t see a way for him to get the nomination. Perhaps in 2008 or 2004, not today.

I just hope that some others drop the dream and concentration on winnable races (hickenlooper, CO-sen; Bob Bullocks, MT-Senate, Beto, TX-Senate)

Good choice.

I’m glad.

Don’t think you would have added a thing to it.

A bit of copy-editing: Hickenlooper is the former governor (not senator) of Colorado, and Bullock is the current governor (not senator) of Montana. Oh, and Beto lost the race for the Senate from Texas. Otherwise, your facts are AOK.

Howard was not perfect but I do miss him.

Well, of course he could beat Trump in the general election. Trump lost his previous election by over 3 million votes to an unpopular candidate despite having EVERY advantage in his favor and is partly responsible for the historic defeat Republicans suffered last November. I’m fairly certain that Trump would lose to anyone not named Trump.

Seriously, it’s so frustrating that mainstream culture has decided that Trump is popular and that we need a special hero to defeat him. In reality, Trump needs the entire rightwing propaganda machine working full blast just to stay at 40% approval and hurts Republicans every time he speaks.

Decent fellow and probably is much more able than most of the prospective candidates. But was he acceptable to the base what ever the heck that is? The more I hear that word thrown around I wonder who they are talking about. Does a democrat since 1967 who wants a centrist candidate who can win qualify?
