Discussion for article #227620
Shilby pointed out that the greater Muslim community has been very vocal in denouncing the militant group as un-Islamic.
“Not everyone in the Muslim community, some Muslims have,” Kelly argued.
FoxNews anchors have never met a goalpost they can’t move.
Why is Kelly denying the reality of centuries of Christian violence?
Calling ISIL not islamic is, in part, PBO trolling the goons in Syria and Iraq. I like it.
Fox maybe the most effective recruiting tool Islamic extremists have.
Where was Megyn Kelly and the other Fox “commentators” when George W. Bush said that Al Qaeda did not represent Islam?? Maybe Megyn was applying peroxide to her head then or in diapers, but what about the rest of the Foxers? Oh, and Tim McVeigh was raised Catholic, ergo he’s Christian?? Fox’s sub-agenda here is pretty clear.
Shilbley proposes a line drawn between religious moderates and religious extremists, a distinction that would be hugely beneficial to the US and the world, but, no, Fox can’t have the line there.
The network is a public health menace.
Let’s take a look at Kelly’s face book likes and see how many of them are old, white sexual perverts!
I think they’re in line between Dick Cheney on that, actually.
Shibly said that Kelly was taking Sharia law out of context and argued that the Bible lays out the same punishment for adultery.
“Yeah, but they’re actually doing it there,” Kelly shot back.
Matthew Shepard, George Tiller, the victims of McVeigh…I could go on and on, so spare me your holier-than-thou crap about how right-wing christianity has somehow evolved beyond violence, and into civil discourse.
Nailed it.
But of course that kind of nuance is lost on mouthbreathers like Megyn Kelly, so he wasted his time.
I like it as well. It’s a good sharp dig at those bad guys. Too bad Megyn cannot see that. And it’s too bad that she hates PBO more than ISIS. At least that’s how it seems to me. For sure she’s an Islamophobe.
The “true believers” have no use for facts about the extremist violence that is committed in the name of Christianity, every single day.
One of the reasons I walked away from all organized religion is because of how the extremists manipulate it to further an agenda or a goal, most often at the expense of those with actual faith.
I’d rather be considered a good human being and citizen of the world than a good [insert religious affiliation here].
I don’t think it was all that subtle a nuance. I thought Hassan was pretty darned clear and thoughtful in his statement.
Which is why she didn’t understand it. She doesn’t do subtle, she doesn’t do direct. She does talking points, hence the constant confusion.
She is an idiot despite people claiming she has any brains. If anything, the NFL adheres to Sharia Law in the manner she describes it. But Fox thinks it’s just fine to beat your wife for NO reason.
She and Bill Maher are getting closer and closer in ideology. This sounds exactly like his rants against all of Islam.
Yes, there are more Islamic radicals than Christian radicals, but it has a lot more to do with the poverty in these 3rd world countries than it has to do with their religion. The guest makes a great point that there are Christians in Africa who want to execute people for being gay. To my point, it has more to do with the poverty, oppression and low education levels than it has to do with a specific religion.
When is Murdoch going to realize that, although FOX is making money with Goober, the long-term effects are, ultimately, non-profitable?
They are a mental health menace as well. Don’t forget the study that showed that watching Fox dulls your brain.
Herein lies the rub.
You go Megyn, you are an expert in “denying reality.”
Seems to me that Hassa’s response was sensible and reasonable and Megyn was put out that his answer did not fit her preconceived notion of reality. She doesn’r need to be a deep thinker. All she really needs to do is regurgitate the talking points and if someone is reasonable she can pin them as a menacing liberal who supports terrorism.
