Discussion for article #224235
Yeah, instead of common sense (which is a good thing) she should have said âgut feelingsâ.
The whoâs your daddy thing is offensive to me on so many levels.
Chris McDaniel, youâre a piece of shit.
This whole back and forth is really juvenile. Donât they have specific issues that they could be addressing to distinguish themselves from one another? OH, I forgotâŚthis is Mississippi. What in the world was I thinking???
Poor citizens of Mississippi. You really are getting the short-changed by both of these idiotsâŚAd hominem attacks aside, you really deserve better than either of these creeps.
Someone explain to me please, exactly what benefit does the nation get from keeping Mississippi in the Union?
I completely understand the argument she was trying to make, but itâs way too high-minded and thoughtful than anything she could expect the Mississippi GOP to understand. What is common sense to one person may not actually be true when weighted against math, science, objective evidence etc. Unfortunately, her comments played right into the hands of her fatherâs opponent. Relying solely on the wisdom of common sense, Jesus, and the Constitution while vowing to refuse federal money are exactly the kinds of idiotic ideas the MS GOP wants to hear itâs candidates to express.
That said, #WhosYaDaddy is gross, itâs insanely sexist, and completely unnecessary. The GOP has long been the party of hate disguised as strength and values, but increasingly, much like the klan, theyâre taken off their disguises and are openly hateful toward even their own.
They donât like the taste of their own medicine.
Itâs not the nation that benefits. Itâs that 33% of MSâs population is Black, and they surely donât deserve the hell that would be unleashed upon them if we let MS secede. Being Black in MS is hell enough.
Yup. Heâs competing with Carnival for the title of Ultimate Empty Teabagger.
Not sure where he thought he was going with the Whoâs your daddy thing, makes no sense, or is he trying to prove her points?
Comes off as either stupid, or offensive. Does he think these are positives?
Nothing. And I say that as a resident.
Actually one of the USACEâs two data centers is in Vicksburg. And one of the largest concentrations of high-speed computing in the world.
But that doesnât mean it couldnât be moved to someplaceâŚcivilized.
Do they? Because it seems to me based on their voting patterns, theyâre getting the government they deserve.
itâs kinda like Boris Badenov vs Snidely Whiplash only not as profound.
When you are a two-bit troll, what do you do?
Attack someoneâs kidsâŚyou just canât make this crap up!!
2 assholes:Cochran and McDaniel going at each other but that âwhoâs your daddyâ thing is beyond disgusting
Itâs presence allows one to point to itâs failures and to excuse or diminish the manifold problems in oneâs own state???
âBoy, Arizona really sucks, but it could be worse, we could be living in Mississippi!â
It is customary to show some respect for your opponentâs family. This is McDanielâs second failure in this regard. Is it wrong that the word âtrashâ comes to mind?
I donât know. Maybe youâre right. But Mississippi has 4 out of every 10 potential voters being either African-American or some other minority. That State has so effectively institutionalized voter suppression and every other evil voting scheme to keep potential Democratic votes from being cast or recognized, that SCOTUS did this State no favor when it changed the preeminent law protecting Voting Rights in the deep south. That was obviously no accident, but its more reason than ever for that Stateâs minority voters and people of good conscience to stand up and engage in a new Civil Rights era, in order to reverse the kind of discrimination that Mississippi seems to now pride itself on. I donât blame all of Mississippi on their backwardnessâŚjust the yokels that want to keep everyone from having a voiceâŚand thatâs clearly the Republican Party of MississippiâŚnow taking hold throughout the country through a similarly designed Southern Strategy.
Hereâs one of my concerns. My understanding is that Mississippi has an open primary and I worry that Democrats are going to pile in to try and get McDaniel the nomination, thinking they can beat him in the general, but canât beat Cochran. I donât think they can beat either of them in the general. The registration numbers and voter turnout are just too stacked against the Democrats in Mississippi. I worry that Democrats there are going to outsmart themselves and put McDaniel into the Senate. Meri, whoâs in Mississippi, doesnât think either of them can be realistically thought of as underdog to a Democrat in the general, and Iâm sorry to say that I agree with her. Rather have Cochran than McDaniel, if those are my only choices.
Yeah : " There are similar discrepancies in the versions of Jesus and the Constitution, but hopefully the clarification of what I meant by âcommon senseâ will serve as sufficient illumination." Iâm kinda doubting that thereâs sufficient illumination in the world to get through to your typical Mississippi Republican primary voter.
